Another POP, MLK Weekender here!

Guess all this talk of packing inspired me-faced "the closet" myself and managed not only to drag out my suitcase (snagged the BIG one before my hubby...*giggle*) but also to start fillin' it! Woohoo for me! :bounce: Even mustered up the ole strength to redo my lanyard...gotta make room for those new pins, you know?? ;)

Does this mean I'm actually going??

:p IVY :p

I haven't started packing yet, because my DD doesn't know about the trip!!! She is six and it is just us!!! We leave Friday, the 16th at 5:35!!! I am going to start putting our things together on Sunday, but put them in a clothes basket. (I always have a basket sitting around!!) Then when she goes to bed Thursday night, I will pack it and put it right in the trunk! I am picking her up from school at 2:00 and telling her we have to go somewhere quick!! Then we will go to the airport!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Wooohoooo!!! This time next week I will be boarding the plane!!!

The only dark cloud on the horizon is the weather:( It is supposed to rain both sat. and sun..

Oh well, I am packing the ponchos!!!!

deb::MinnieMo

I too am sad about the rain predicted. We re-arranged our entire schedule to be sure we were able to get to Spectro on Saturday night.....now it might be rained out!! I am well into the single digit dance phase! Packing has begun in earnest, delayed slightly by a two day stomach bug between Christmas and New Years. Got my box of food packed up to ship out on Monday to our hotel. Weighs a ton! This time next week we will be in the skies heading south. Considering the daytime high today was around 3+ degrees F, anything they have to offer in FL for weather will be welcomed!!.......................See you all there!!....P

Oh my gosh, I am a newbie! I hadn't even thought about packing yet until I checked out the post today. Suddenly, I am getting a little freaked out! I must shop!!!! We need fanny packs, ponchos (my theory is that if it rains it just means smaller crowds!), a camera

YikeS!!!!

Any last minute suggestions on what NOT to forget?

Anne

LuvsTink- How exciting!!! Your first trip ever to WDW!!!!!:hyper:
This is our 8th trip in 6 years, and Im STILL excited!!!! Ok everyone, Ive been out shopping for things for the past 3 days, got my suitcases out, found some capri pants and short sleeved tops and packed them!! The rest of our summer clothes are in rubbermaid bins out and my DH has to get them out! Its so frigid here today, that its hard to believe we are going to be in 70 degrees in less than 6 days!!!!!! The weather forecast keeps getting a little bit better every day that I check! Except for that darn rain they are showing on Saturday! But with past trips, it always says rain on a few days, and we never (knock on wood) get any rain!!!! So, hopefully that will change. Saturday is our Breakfastosauras morning, and Animal Kingom day. There isnt a whole lot of 'inside' things to do AK so lets think:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Some other things to pack... extra film, and lots of it, extra camera batteries, extra video tapes, extra video camera battery/or battery charger, sunscreen, sun glasses, warmer clothes ( lows are still showing between 45-51) for the night, light gloves, swimsuit for the heated pools, laundry soap/fabric sheets for washing clothes. I either measure out scoopfuls of powder and put it in zip lock baggies- 1 load per baggie, or this time I bought the detergent tablets. Its cheaper this way! I dont know if you are bringing kids, but I also bring disposible bibs, disposible changing pads, and I make up 'diaper packs' by placing one diaper in a bigger ziplock bag, and then I put a few wipes in a smaller ziplock, and put it in with the diaper. Then, when i need to change Jake, I just grab a baggie. Its soo easy!

Am I jaded? I haven't really begun to pack, I am more worried about getting everyting in order to take my dog to the kennel. We are going Friday morning on JetBlue (first time can't wait to fly it) for the long weekend staying at the Polynesian. Have no plans what so ever, We only have 2 PS's but wish I could make one for in front of the big screen at the Tambu Lounge to watch the Pats!!!!

We are flying out on Friday morning too... from Pittsburgh.. and I am about 75% packed! I am making it my goal for the day is to be almost done by this evening. I still need to get some shorts out for the kids, and I need to pack my carry on bags, but Im almost done::yes:: Usually Im doing everything last minute and Im stressed out. I dont have to worry about the dog and cats, as my mom lives up the hill and she will come take care of them. woohoo..

No worries! We are in for a great trip! Here is why!

Remembered to pack umbrellas and ponchos - will not rain!

Remembered to pack asprins, thermometer, and pepto - no one will get sick!

Remembered to pack wintery clothes - will be warm and sunny all eight days!

That is how my luck goes!

Karen

Karen, and all.. have you checked out that weather lately??? Its slowing rising up!!! Its now going to be in the upper 60's/low 70's for the highs, and those pesky 30 degree lows have been replaced with some upper 40's and lower 50's!! Yeahh!!!!!!

Yes!..... The heck with the "single digit dance"..... I'm doing the "good weather forecast dance"!!!!!!!!!::yes:: :sunny: ::yes::
......................See you all there!!!..........P

I am dancing so much I have worn in my new shoes for the trip! I have been watching the weather, bot here and in Orlando. The weather here may get into the double digits while we're gone so anything above 40 is like summer for us.

We are packed, except for a few minor things- money, tickets, etc., that go in last.

We told oldest DD we are leaving this week- so she is sure to finish all projects that are due. This a.m. DH told her it would be either Thurs. or Fri. We told them they could wear their new shoes to school the day we leave for FL. So, they think we are leaving after school- HA! Our flight leaves at 7AM!!! I can't wait to wake them up at 4AM on Thurs. to tell them to get up and ready for Mickey's!!!! I am so excited that I can hardly sleep!!!!!!

I wonder if anyone has had a "cardiac episode" in the days leading up to a trip?? I am just SO excited. I am trying so desperately to finish up work stuff so that I can focus on preparing to leave. One of my goals is to have the house in ship-shape condition before we leave so that we can come back to a nice and tidy house. Of course for us, that is a mighty big goal, since the entire house is RARELY clean at the same time:rolleyes: At this point I think I will be lucky if we get out the door with packed bags. It seems that I spent sooooo much time planning and I still feel completely unprepared. Tell me that when I get there this will all seem worth it :earseek:

I get so excited everytime I check the weather - it seems to get better each time! I have dyed my hair, put a hold on the mail & stopped the newspapers. Now I need to finish up some client work (so I can get paid::yes::) and PACK. We all need haircuts but that might have to be done at the mainstreet barber shop.

Hey MomToBen02....it took me long enough to find you on these boards.

Don't want to tell you who I am because I will blow my cover on these boards. ( I tend to get into heated disagreements with others...such as the mug issue.)

But after reading the "signature" at the bottom you should figure out who we are.

We just want to wish you guys a safe trip and a great time.
Chances are Ben may not remember too much from his first trip to see the Mouse...BUT take lots of pictures...they will last him a lifetime.

(if you have a regular camera..bring extra film from home. Film is VERY expensive down there. Here you can get 4 rolls for $7 and down there...4 rolls for $16. You'll be surprised at how fast you will go thru film. )

Also, try to go see Bob at Riverside. He really is alot of fun.
He plays Wednesdays thru Saturdays from 8:30 to Midnight.

If you go see him, tell him we said hello. He knows who we are.

BUT be careful....you may be included in one of his "acts".
If you do go see him...and are included in one of his acts...just remember...as silly as it may be, "you'll never see those people again."

PS...he likes to "pick" on the guys...so Ron may be in for a "treat".

Have a safe trip and a GREAT time....

Your Cousins..

Hmmm...I wonder who? :wave2:

Thanks for everything "P"! We are (almost) ready and cannot WAIT to leave! We have two brand spankin new memory cards for our brand spankin new digital camera - no film for us! We'll email pics when we get back!!

Karen (and Ron and Ben!):teeth:

Just a few more days! Whoo-hoo! I haven't even begun to pack yet, but I've got plenty of experience there. I've had to make a bunch of business and personal trips over the last 3 months.

As far as the weather goes, I won't mind if there's some rain on just one of the days. That might keep the crowds away, right? I'll just put on the poncho and keep on trucking through the rides.

Mom2Ben02: digital cameras are great!!! It looks like you've got the memory cards covered. Don't forget extra batteries. Some of those cameras drain batteries faster than expected. It sounds like you're well prepared though.

Have a great trip everyone!!!

For those of you who are getting ready to leave for the best place on earth, I just wanted to say

HAVE A SAFE TRIP AND THE BEST VACATION EVER!!!!

I didnt get my green home depot Mickey yet, and if I dont, I will look for some green ribbon!! I hope to spot some of you there!! I am SOOO excited! The kids were walking around with HUGE grins this morning before school!!! We are officially at ZERO days and 23 hours and 15 minutes to go!!! I am dancing and dancing and dancing. :jumping1: And check out that weather!! Its looking AWESOME!!! 76 on Saturday!!!! YES!!!( Im going to do a rain dance when I get there just to make sure it doesnt rain on those few days they are predicting it!!!) ::yes::

See you there!!!

:cool1::jumping1::cool1:

Have lime green Mickey heads - not sure how to explain to DH that I want him to wear one so that the people I communicate with on the internet can identify me :earseek: He will think I've lost my mind. :earseek:

:earsboy: :earsgirl: pirate: pirate:

Aimee - do that raindance for Monday - my boys are scheduled for the pirate cruise. They've never been & unless I can convince DH to go back this year, DS1 will be too old.:earseek:

My actual plan is 14 pages long (okay, so I overplan a little) so I won't bother you with it, but here's a summary:

Arrive 16th, 7 pm, dinner, Downtown Disney

17th: AK in the am, try to do as much as possible (DH has not been); try to get out by 1-2 (lunch at FlameTree), run over to MGM, try to do as much there as possible. Meet with SIL (lives in FL) and go to Fantasmic. Dinner: Yoji's

18th: MK, be there at rope drop, Afternoon Tea PS for 3:15. If (and only if, ha ha :p) we can get out early, then go shopping (Belz). Dinner: Sam Seltzer

19th: EPCOT. If we can get out early here, then go back to what we missed at MGM.

20th: Early morning back to what we've missed, or if we've done it all, shopping. Mom is driving up from Tampa; late lunch at Colorado Mining Company, then fly home. :(

Fourteen page plan for five days??? And I thought I overplanned! Good luck, have fun, and we will look for you at AK on Saturday!
