this is just a quick question ... has anyone taken their whole family (DD, DS & Dh) passports to get the done with out having any issues.
I don't really want my DH to be missing work over this so I was just going to take his passport in when I'm getting mine done.:confused3 :confused3

From what I understand (have been reading as we are also doing our passports over the next month or so) you can bring your husbands application for him if you bring his necessary ID, the app and a note signed by him about you being his wife and have permission to get the passport for him, or something to that effect (I read this on the Passport Canada site). I am planning on doing the applications online and bringing the whole family's myself one morning.
HTH a little:thumbsup2

I did the passports for myself, dh and the boys. Provided that you have the correct info, ID etc you can do your dh's. I could have also done my dad's, since he is my fathers, but could not do my BIL's unless he resided in my home.

I did it last year for the four of us and had no issues. As long as you bring all the information required you should be okay.

Good ole' Passport Canada... :rolleyes1 I sat in line with DH for 6 hours on Friday to get our passports.. Everything went well with no issues, so now the waiting game has begun.. :)

6hrs
that's is crazy... I was hoping i could get it done 1st thing in the morning before work.

I was told (of course, after I finished up there) that Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to go.. Of course, this is also in Edmonton, so I'm not sure about the rest of country..

I was told the same thing in Calgary (I did mine early 2006), the reason they gave was that people who live in smaller towns have to usually take a day off and they tend to take off a Friday or Monday so passport offices are more busy on those two days than other days of the week.

i always recommend if 1 person can do an online application(ususally the parents) then they will process all the applications(adults on line, kids paper applications together) and when you go to the office, you must tell the ticket person you have internet applications done so they will give you a separate ticket for On line applications line ups. It is a separate and faster service.

Ya - you're not alone in that hope. It's actually faster to go in the middle of the morning or middle of the afternoon. Of course if you submit your application online it can be super fast.

Just be careful... Both myself and DH filled out our passport apps online, and we still had to stand in line with everyone else. It didn't become fast until we got into the Passport Canada offices and got a number. :confused3

I went to the Kitchener office on a Tuesday or Wednesday around 10ish. In & out in 30 minutes. I had printed my renewal from the internet & filled it in. This was the first time I have gone. Usually DH takes care of everyone but he needed his sooner for work & DD's had a different date so I was on my own.

I took all of ours ( 5 in our family ) and did them while everyone went to school and work...we took ours June 6th and received our last 2 on sept 10- 4 days before we were leaving for disneyland!!! Scary-and this was calling for the last 3 weeks and having 3 requests to open our files put in...then they lost my youngest daughters...4 of ours were in calgary (we are from bc) and our youngest daughters was found is saskatoon......yikes...good luck

did they know you were an internet application? A friend of mine went recently and got a number but did not tell them it was an internet application so she had to wait. I told them, and they said there are 2 sets of #'s. One for on line, then other they gave to everyone else.

Unbelievably, yes they did... There were 4 sets of #'s, and I'm not sure what each set was for, but the C #'s were the internet applications. And there were TONS of us.. :)

OK, got our passports done this morning in Scarborough.
Office opened at 8am I was there at 7:45am and there was already a line up!!
At Around 755am the Guard came around and gave all the people in line a A# and didn't ask us what kind of application we had.
So I got A10... I was out of there at 8:30am, there were only 4 stations open and they where only calling A#'s.
The will be mailing the Passports out Oct 26th... i asked her if that was a sure thing and she said if that's what it says that's what it is!!

Had no issue doing my DH passport.

Now I do the waiting thing and hope our passports will get here before our trip!! (12/08/07)
