I'll be going to WDW this August... I'll be visiting friends and I am staying on property... now I want to go to DHS midday and Park my car in DHS... Then move on to Epcot during the night. Can I leave my car in DHS and would the boat from Epcot be running if DHS is closed? It would be EMH for Epcot.... and "IF" I want to do the same for Epcot and MK with the Monorail? I figure instead of going back to the hotel or driving to the TA parking... just planning ahead?????

Thanks

The boat stops running to DHS an hour or hour and a half after DHS closes. So you may or may not be able to ride back. However, there's a nice waking path from Boardwalk to DHS that you can use even if DHS is closed.

I don't know about you, but by the time the parks close, especially if there is EMH, I'm beat. If it was me, I'd park at Epcot, hop a bus to DHS, take the boat or walk back to Epcot for the evening, and when I was done for the night, my car would be right there. Same with your other day. I'd park at the TTC, take the monorail to Epcot, and then to MK, and my car would be closer to MK when I was finished.

I agree about parking at Epcot and taking the Disney bus to DHS. Then, if your day starts at Epcot then on to MK for EMH, I would park at MK TTC parking lot, monorail to Epcot, monorail back to TTC, switch to MK monorail for MK entry. Ferry boat alternative to/from MK to TTC parking (in case monorail has stopped running for the evening).

Thanks...I never knew you can take a bus to DHS from TTC (FYI... I always take busses from my room).. this part is all new to me.

If you wanted to go from MK to DHS or AK in the past you used to have to go to the TTC and take a bus to those parks from there, this has been changed as the buses to DHS and AK leave direct from the MK.

As was said, there are no buses to DHS at TTC.
But...

There is "direct" transportation between all the WDW theme parks.
The frequency of departure for each is approximately every 20 minutes, give or take, all day long

Most routes are via Disney Buses.
Here are the "park-to-park" Disney Transportation direct connections:

MK> Epcot = Monorail to TTC, Switch to 2nd Monorail to Epcot
MK> DHS = Direct Bus
MK> AK= Direct Bus

AK> DHS= Direct Bus
AK> Epcot= Direct Bus
AK> MK= Direct Bus

DHS> MK= Direct Bus
DHS> AK= Direct Bus
DHS> Epcot= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.

Epcot > MK= Monorail to TTC, Switch to 2nd Monorail to MK
Epcot > AK= Direct Bus
Epcot> DHS= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.

The buses have their destinations shown on them on illuminated signs.
The bus stops at the parks are also marked with signage.

As a rule-of-thumb, allow 40-60 minutes to get from the gates of one park to the gates of another park.

You should post these questions on the Transportation subforum here on the DIS, rather than here on the Theme Parks subforum. There is a wealth of info there and they can help with all your transportation questons.
Good Luck

Is this a recent-ish development? I remember having to go back to the resort to grab a bus to another park but that was probably 2009, didn't really do any hopping since then.

There's been direct park to park transportation for some time now. The TTC should really be renamed since it isn't the transportation hub it once was.

Just for my own curiosity and edification, do you know when this began? Is some time now the last two years? the last twenty? Me being oblivious is far from out of the question :)

I know in 2001 they had park to park transportation,I'm going to see if I can find when the buses between parks started but I think it was even much further back than 2001.

Sorry, but I don't have a specific date. We used park-to-park transportation on trips as far back as 8 years ago. The most recent change came a couple of years ago at MK when they expanded the bus depot. Before the expansion, you had to go to the TTC to travel between MK and another park. Now, the buses for AK and DHS are located right at the MK depot.

There has been direct service between parks as long as "park hopping" has been a thing. I think the last one to be implemented was the bus from the front of EPCOT to DHS so you don't have to walk to the back if you are already at the front.

Oblivious it is, go figure, I feel like I probably made use of it and just managed to completely blank then! It's been known to happen.

Thanks,
Adam
