My family and I are going to be at WDW from 6/29-7/8 this year. We have been in the past. We have purchased annual passes for the first time and will be buying the dining plan for the first time. So there is the summer special (incredible rate) and we have a valid UOC and the passholder rate... So I called today. Neither the UOC or passholder rate saved me any money from the incredible summer rate BUT I can upgrade from POFQ to a Cabin for $400 or a Cars suite for $600. We LOVE french quarter but are 4 adults in a room. (prices include the extra adults charge for FQ) We have done that before for a long trip and survived fine. We have stayed at a cabin but on a trip when we were traveling a lot for a softball world series. I'm not sure a cabin gives me enough of a difference to over power my love for FQ. And I wouldn't love being reliant upon FW transportation. 3 of us have walked around AOA and really liked it. My adult son has not and fears it would be too packed with unsupervised children. Does anyone have an opinion to offer? Is either of the upcharges worth it? Are there a lot of unsupervised children in the Cars area? Are the buses for AOA pretty good? TIA

IMO, "unsupervised" children can be just about anywhere. POFQ included. AOA suites are pricey but they are ideal for larger families or families with 3+ kids, so you may see more kids because of that. Not sure if it would be a noticeable difference though.

I can't speak to buses there but the food court is great. Better than POFQ, IMO. The suite would also give you two bathrooms which helps with 4 adults. I do think the room could still be a touch crowded, especially with luggage and all beds folded down into place, but at least you'd have the extra bathroom and two people would have their own beds.

I love POFQ, but personally wouldn't do 4 adults in a moderate. You can have good or bad bus service at any of the hotels. You might want to price out the meals that you are planning while you are in Disney as sometimes the dining plan doesn't save you money.

No way would I spend extra money on a value resort unless I had to because of occupancy issues, which you don't have. AoA is incredibly uncomfortable. Literally, the worst bedding I've ever experienced in my life. It's also loud and the food court is really chaotic. Save your money and sanity and stay at POFQ!

I vote no to cabins -- the transportation is nightmarish. I would stay at POFQ, the suites at AoA -- while nice -- just aren't worth the money in my opinion.

I wouldn't pay more money to stay at a value, even in a suite.

I agree with this. I think AoA is severely overpriced and we most likely won’t ever stay there. We like the amenities at moderates more and they usually cost less than the suites at AoA. I hope the four of you like each other lol
