Okay, girls. Let's talk bras.

Do you have one that you LOVE? I'm looking for a comfy yet supportive bra (sorry all you 34A's - this one's not for you ;) ). Does such a thing exist? I have avoided underwire until now but alas, gravity and genetics have conspired against me and frankly, the time has come.

I thought I had the perfect bra - fit great and was super comfortable in the store dressing room. Now, I've worn it twice and I swear they should send these things to Guantanamo Bay for interrogating prisoners. They'd sing like canaries.

Any suggestions welcome! :sunny:

Ah, yes. My old friend gravity. May I strongly suggest you try the IPEX bra from Vicky's. I only have one, and I wore it all the time. I only bought one because I knew that I would be going to the Doctor to get the gravity reversed, and they are pricey. However, as soon as I am allowed to wear a bra again (in a couple of weeks) I am buying several new IPEX. They are soooo soft and supportive.
Good Luck!

I love Maidenform's "one fabulous fit" and most from VS.

For hard to fit (large) ladies, I hear the Wacoal from Nordstrom are the best.

I wear the full coverage Body by Victoria bras... I have worn them since college and I love them. I have tried several other kinds since the ones I like are $35 a peice, but nothing works as well or lasts as long.

I like the underwire - for lifting and separating... and I do not like padding of any kind. I don't need anymore!

I love  the Angels Uplift from Victoria's Secret...slightly padded and make my gravity burdened b@@bs look like they're 20 years old again (while they're in the bra at least). Of course, I love most of the bra's Vickey's carries. I frequent that place too often but DH really doesn't mind :teeth:

So, what's the deal with the IPEX? Why are they so much "better"? I haven't tried one, but it kind seems like strategic marketing to me.

OP, I really love my Gillian O'Malley bras that I get from Target. Underwire, soft-cup, with a bit of a push-up effect----$10. In all honesty just the same as a $40 bra I just got from VS. The only reason I bought the VS one was because I needed a low cut bra for a few tops that I have. I just could not find one at Target. Looking at the two they are exactly the same with the exception of the VS one being lower cut in the front.

I love the Angels from Victorias Secret that have the built in padding (avoids some embarassing moments, not needed for the extra umm bulkage lol). I always look for them on sale online as I know my size and just order when I can. I end up with funky colors like turquoise and purple but i dont care. they work!

I like Cacique from Lane Bryant. The cotton ones with the elastic band covered and lace at the top, no underwire. The cotton ones with the elastic that has Cacique printed on it are nice to but I like the lace one a little better. I can wear these all day they are really comfortable.

I have an IPEX bra and it's comfortable at first but after awhile it starts to poke me under the armpit and it gets uncomfortable under the wire...

I recently bought one of those tube top like bras (it has skinny straps - no underwire - just all material that stretches - know what i mean?) for just wearing around the house under t-shirts (better than nothing ) and it's really nice...i'm thinking of getting a few more...

But i have not found my holy grail bra yet..looking forward to seeing more responses...

Another Vicky shopper here, with another satisfied DH! :p

I'm so glad you said this - I was thinking that I was the only one! I have red spots on my arm pits from the wires. No matter where I position it it still pokes me, especially when I sit down. Maybe underwire bras are not for me?

I tried the Gilliam O'Malley bras too - I was so excited when I found them because they look just like the BBV bras that I love for 1/3 of the price. But I ended up throwing them out. They didn't "hold" nearly as well for me....

What was the bra that Oprah recommended?

I really like Double Support by Bali. Smooth cup (so no seam lines), enough support for those of us who aren't 16 anymore, and enough stretch in the straps so they're comfortable. They also hold their shape through repeated wearings and washings - so they last longer. The retail is about $25 but I usually look for a sale. Here's a link

When you get older my dear, you will want them to be seperated. Trust me on this.... :goodvibes

I wear IPEX now, and was wearing body by victoria's. Not sure the secret ot the IPEX but I like it better than the BBV's...???

the one thing I hate is the UNI**** look you get with some cheap bra's- especially cheap sports bra's...

I like bras by the Gap, I think they're called Gap Body, they have all types and are COMFY, I've never worn such comfy bras before. I just got some on sale last week 2 for $44. I buy them when they are sale priced.
