I think I finally mamanged to read most of the recent threads on Niagara Falls, and have done some additional research on my own, so here's my tentative itinerary (with some questions thrown in) All input is GREATLY apppreciated.

It will be me, DH and DD (1) - Probably arriving around 2PM on a Monday (6/20) for an overnight stay and departure from the area around Noon on Tuesday.

I have two reservations : The Quality Inn Clifton Hill - $64 (USD) +tax - no additional parking fee, and The Courtard at the Falls $76 + tax +$7 parking.
I was thinking of trying to priceline a 4*, but I'd have to really low ball it to offset a potential $20 parking fee - and we may end up with a city view room anyway.
Plan is get into town, Maybe go see the IMAX (that would give DD a bit of history, right?) Do Maid of the Mist and maybe Journey Behind the Falls - Maybe squeeze in a Wax Museum, or other Clifton Hill attraction.
Late Dinner at either 17 Noir or the Skyon Tower. If we did 17 Noir, DH and I could take turns in the casino, and back to the room to sleep.

The next day morning would be open for whatever else appeals to whoever - just in case we see something that we didn't previously know about.
The butterfly Conservatory sounds great, but we have a place very similar to that nearby to us that we can visit anytime - so I'm inclined to skip it here.

Budget is definitely an issue, that's why I looked at somewhat budget hotels, I figure rather than spend $150 for a room with a view, I'd spend and that and use the rest to buy dinner with a view. Both of these had pretty good reviews on tripadvisor.

I'm hoping we can walk most places, once we park.
Any other ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks
Anne

Hi! The Quality Inn on Clifton Hill is VERY close to all the attractions you mentioned. The maid of the mist and falls are just at the bottom of the hill (a 5 minute walk or less) and Clifton Hill is full of things to do. The Courtyard by Marriot is another 5 minutes away from the Quality Inn and further from the falls although still walking distance. The Imax is walking distance if you don't mind the 7-10 minute walk. Go through the back parking lot and you will come out over by the Imax. If I had the choice I would choose the Quality Inn for the price and location (have stayed here as well, nothing fancy but has indoor and outdoor pool and is clean and back in off the street so is relatively quiet) Have a great time! My family likes to go down there at least 5-6 times a year, if only Disney was as close!! :goodvibes

Q16 is a great choice.

Don't forget Italian Ice Cream!!! mmmmmmm.

I would suggest skipping the butterfly conservatory, especially if you have one close to you. It is not inexpensive and is small, although interesting. My kids loved the vernicular(sp) rail car and it was only a few dollars in total for all of us to ride plus you get an incredible view of the falls. Have fun!

Sorry I was (and am presently) at work and was typing that really fast. I was referring to the Quality 16 hotel on Clifton Hill. It's a great location as is the Travelodge.
