I'm just wondering a few things to prep me for booking our first trip...

1) Which room categories are the most popular?

2) Which resorts are the most difficult to get?

3) Which times of year are the busiest for DVC?

I'm just wondering a few things to prep me for booking our first trip...

3) Which times of year are the busiest for DVC?

1) Not sure what you mean by "catagories", but I would suspect that the cheapest and most costly rooms at all resorts are the most difficult to book. If you mean what size villa is most popular, I'd say the GVs, Studios, and 2 bedrooms go first. The 1 bedroom is always going to be the easiest to book.

2) The smaller resorts will be most difficult at the 7 month window, and certain resorts will be more difficult at specific times. BCV is almost impossible during F&W festival, and VWL is the same way at Holiday time. Those are the two smalles on site DVC resorts, so that puts even more pressure on them. SSR and OKW are the largest, so they are somewhat easier during all times.

3) The busiest time for DVC is the first two weeks of December and the week between Christmas and New Years with NYE being the most difficult night to book in the entire year. Food and Wine festival is also becoming difficult, and any holiday is going to be busier than a non holiday time.

that was great information! Thanks for that. We're going to book as soon as we get the paperwork signed at SSR (we'll be 11 months out already) and when the 7 month point comes around we're going to try to get BC, but we'll be going at easter which could make it interesting. I'm sure it's crowded then as well. We really want to play in stormalong bay, but we'd be happy staying anywhere really. Sure wish we could hop to stormalong (would solve all our problems).
