Another Newbie Question

Considering DVC but I'm wondering what options there are for home resorts for a family of five without using a 2-bedroom? Does that make sense? I'm not even sure I have the lingo down yet?

From what I was reading, the only resort that may accomodate us in a one-bedroom is Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas? Am I right?

Welcome to the madness! We're in the same boat. We bought at SSR hopeful to use a one bedroom and make it work. People have used an air mattress for another bed. We'll wing it until we know for sure what works best. If not, we'll get a two bedroom!!!!!!!

We're just happy to have finally made the leap into DVC.

DVC is strict about room limits. All studios and 1BR (except AKV) will limit to four occupants except a child under 3 that can use the porta-crib provided in the villas.

MS is currently allowing 5 persons in any of the DVC 1 bedroom units, no matter what the ages happen to be. However, you are on your own for bedding as no accommodations are made for the 5th person (unless the 5th is an infant under the age of 3 who can use a portable crib (Pac 'n Play) for a bed. It is possible that MS will decide not to allow this in the future. The Position Offering Statement says that the 1 bedrooms sleep 4 persons.

The exception is the 1 bedroom units at the AKV. Those officially sleep 5. A sleep chair is provided in the living room to accommodate the 5th person.


MS does not accept reservations for more than 4 persons (plus an infant) for any of the DVC studio units.
