If you rent a double stroller for the whole week is that one stroller yours for the week???
Or do you leave it behind, get a new one the next day etc...????
We are staying at the cabins (first time ever going to disney) 4 kiddos 6 and under...so wondering will I have it on me for this boat ride to MK or do I pick it up there daily.
WE check in tomorrow night, can I get one at the cabins or only at a park?
Thanks in advnace!!!!
The WDW rental strollers stay inside the parks. You pick them up each time INSIDE the parks, and you return them INSIDE the park before you leave.
Here's how it works. Each stroller rental outfit (one in each park) has two lines, a line to pay and a line to pick up. The very first time you're in a park, you'll go to that stroller rental place, which is always inside the park, which means of course they're somewhere past the turnstiles (MK -- to the right before the train station; Epcot -- forward and to the left, before Spaceship Earth; MGM -- forward and to the right, it looks like a gas station; AK -- forward and towards the right). That first time, you'll get in the "pay" line for the one and only time of your trip. You'll pay for the entire week (or whatever length) in advance. You'll get a strip of daily rental tickets and a receipt stapled to the top of the strip.
You then get in the other line, the stroller pick up line. There, they'll stamp the date on one of the rental tickets, and also hand you a card upon which you'll write your last name (or in our case, I had the kids pick a different Disney character each day -- the only real reason for the card is to help you distinguish your stroller from the others than look exactly like it). They'll hand you a double stroller or point where you should go fetch one from. They'll advise you to slide your name card into the clear plastic holder on the back of the stroller.
Use the stroller. When you're ready to leave the park, return the stroller to the rental place. If you hand in your already date stamped ticket, you'll get a Disney Dollar in return. Or do what I did, hold onto the tickets until the last day and then hand in all 7 to get 7 Disney Dollars.
BUT WAIT!!! If you think you're going to another park that day or back to that same park, don't hand in your ticket. That ticket is the only way you'll get another stroller that same day, unless you use up another ticket, which would be a pretty dumb move. In other words, your date stamped rental ticket is good in ANY of the parks (even the same park) for that entire day. You could go to each of the four parks and even go back and do a park a second time, and each time you will get a stroller rental for that day on that same one ticket stamped with that day's date on it.
Of course, because the stroller rental places are inside the turnstiles, you won't have the use of the strollers between the turnstiles and the buses, or at your resort, or at Downtown Disney, etc. We had a 5 year old and a 2.5 year old and they walked a lot and we also carried them as needed.
I hope this all makes sense. ENJOY!
