Another Mission Space Question

I realize that Mission Space is like a carnival ride that moves with centrifical force in a vertically circular motion and I was wondering, is it similar to Astroworld's S.W.A.T. ride where you go in a big, fast flip? If so, is this ride faster or slower?

M:S is nothing like a carinval ride. It's a motion simulator (think Star Tours if it only held 4 people) that depends on a centerfuge for it's motion.

I'm not familiar with the ride you mention, but my guess is it's not what you are thinking. The fact that it spins is supposed to be transparent to the rider.

The centerfuge is horizontal - not vertical - and is meant to induce the feeling of launching in a space craft.

Hope this helps!

It is a cetrifical force or centrifuge, it spins U in a circle!!! That is why U shouldn't look off 2 the side if U feel sick!!! U will be worse off if U do!! :guilty:

no, it is not a motion simulator ride

Yes, it is a motion simulator ride. :)

Instead of on a platform, like Star Tours, the motion is created by the centerfuge.

Motion simulator refers to just about any ride where physical movements are choreographed with on-screen video, which is exactly what M:S is.

You don't flip in this ride, although at the beginning you are put on your back as if you were in a command chair on the shuttle.

But does not actually move in any pattern!!! U just said it ,it's a centrafuge!!!! Which means to spin!!! I should know i work with lab equip.!!!

"carnival ride"? I find it hard at any stretch of the imagination to compare it to a "carnival ride".

I thought it was both centrifuge (sp?) and motion simulator, so perhaps everyone is right :goodvibes I think it was on the Disney channel or on the park info channel (there the day MS opened!) that it spins you (a la carnival rides that force you to the side), but also combines motion simulator technology. So, if I remember correctly, you're being spun in a motion simulator vehicle...hence the intensity.
