Another memorable dinner at Victoria and Alberts

I'm nearly at my breaking point for this! Uncle, you have convinced me that I should plan an evening like this with DH. :wave2:

I'm really pulling a Pavlov's dog here right now! I'm on the cabbage soup diet so I can eat my way through WDW in 7 days!
V&A on Friday the 29th.
Thank you for the great review. I'm even more excited now!

My DH and I will be dining here in July for our 5th wedding anniversary and my birthday. It will be our first time and after reading your post, I'm very excited! I think I will stash away and extra $100 for the wine pairings. ;)

You're absolutely right! We were there on 10/4.
I thought it changed daily also--ot at least a large part minus desserts, which always seem the same. But I had a look at the menu on Sunday (the night before we ate at V&A--we did Narcoosee's that nite) and it was the same as we had on Monday.
So I don't know if this is a "policy" change or what. Since most folks would only do V&A once or twice (and not usually in the same week) , most folks wouldn't really know the menu had (or had not changed) and it would be "new" to them.
Maybe someoione scheduled to go might ask their Victoria or Albert and see what the situation is--??

Well, a friend of mine who went on 10/8 had quite a few of the
same items on her menu, so maybe some offerings within
a course change? I've seen the Kona Chocolate Souffle
is usually a staple of the menu, and I'd be plenty miffed if
it wasn't offered the next time I go there.

Ok, now I've gotta go read your Todd English's bluezoo review.

I'm beginning to HATE you Uncleromulus!

As you know V&A's is one of the few restauarants we have not tried because we have been turned off (or frieghtend) by the munu offerings and the grand scale (plus the fact that I don't have dress pants or a sports jacket, much less a suit...I live in the Keys for goodness sake!)...

Anyway, your review is so mouthwatering good and you are always so dead on (IMO), that I feel I'm going to have to start considering this place.

Does anybody know a good place to buy a suit?

Thanks for your extensive review. We are looking forward to our night out at V & A's on Dec. 1.

We dined at V&A on 9-24 for the first time and enjoyed it very much. We did the wine pairing and I agree I loved the ale, we had the souffle's as well, lamb and filet it was terrific. We always had wanted to try V&A and this trip pleased to have dined there, we will be making it a must next year. A true dining experience, no rushing not noisy.

The rose presented at the close of dinner was absolutey gorgeous, the reason I feel this way is we left on 9-25 I took it home with me on the plane from east to west coast, arrived home and placed in in a vase and it lasted for 10 days, true...

When we went there the only problem was with the wine pairing. I felt like I was getting a buzz and not enjoying the food as much. I also loved the Disney Champane. I think next time we go I will just order a bottle and skip the pairing.

The cumulative effects from the pairings can add up--!!
But fortunately for me (and Mrs U) the meal is so slowly paced that we find it dosen't bother us as much as that much wine really "should".
But everyone is different and always well to know one's own capacity--.
