Animal Kingdom here we come! One day we are going to make it for the opening. We wore some very casual shorts and t-shirts to ride the river rapids and brought clothes to change into. We didn't realize that the river rapids didn't open until 9:30 so we just waited in line. Once the ride got going it didn't take but a few minutes for us to get on. The girls were not able to ride but it was a beautiful walk back to the ride and there wheelchairs went through there fine. Mike rode first and got wet but not too bad. He really loved it. We swapped out and then I rode. It was funny because I got on with the same family that he had ridden with. Swapping off was just that quick. It was great. I really loved the ride. It was beautiful and lots of fun. I got wet but not to bad.
We headed straight over to Tarzan Rocks. I have to admit that each time we have gone to AK I have not wanted to do this. I mean I just wasn't excited. We were seated right up front. The auditorium itself was amazing. When the monkey guys came out the girls got so excited. The guys were waving and blowing kisses to them. When the band came out they were great! We were all very excited!!! I was already loving the show and really getting into it. I kept taking pictures. One of the dancers that was right in front of us was wonderful. She was very sweet to pay attention to the girls and wave to them. I was really into the show when all of a sudden Tarzan swings over our heads on a fine. WOW!!! I am not sure what words to use here. I looked at Mike and asked him was he real? I couldn't imagine someone build like that. I thought maybe he had some kind of muscles on. I just wasn't sure. He and Jane were great! We were all in awe of them swinging with no net or anything. Terk came out next. She was so cute. She sang a rap song. After her song she laid down on the stage and reach over to touch Mary Elizabeth. By this time I was really crying. As the band was closing the show the lead singer came down and saw the girls. The entire show and cast were awesome! It's definitely a show we will see each time we are there. As we were leaving one of the CMs asked if we had a minute. We said sure. She lead us backstage. When we turned the corner the cast was there. I told them I was already crying and this was going to make me cry more. The lead singer said honey we saw you crying out there and you made all of us cry. He said we just had to meet ya'll. A CM that was with them took pictures of all of us. The lead singer told me I better go back to the room and download those pictures because after taking at least 1,000 pictures of them during the show my card wasn't going to hold very many more. I did take a lot of pictures during the show. I didn't want to miss anything. Next time we will take the video camera. I couldn't believe he was so talented. He sang great, paid attention to the girls and our family while singing, saw me crying and taking so many pictures. The dancer that was so wonderful held Marlee Anne because they matched. She even held her in front of Terk so they could see each other good. It was so cute. All the cast were very sweet and caring to take time to speak to the girls. The wanted to know about the girls and how they were doing. We told them that was the first time we had seen the show and we would be back. They said to please come back and see them. I just had to get a picture of Tarzan and I together. I asked him if I could touch him because I couldn't believe he was real. He was real indeed. As we were leaving he shook Mike's hand and told him to have a very blessed day. WOW!!! It's so neat to see how God goes ahead and plans these perfect days. Amazing!!! After that I could have gone home. Our hearts were continuing to overflow. We just couldn't quit talking about it. Of course Mike had to remind me that I didn't even want to go see that show. It just goes to show you that if Disney has anything to do with it it's gonna be great.
We went to check out The Bone Yard but decided not do it. We left and went straight to MGM for lunch. We had a wonderful lunch at The Brown Derby. That's the first time we had ever eaten there and we were very impressed.
We wanted to go over and see Jasmine but when we got there it was the other characters. We asked the CM and she said she would be out in a little while. We were standing in the shade so we decided we would just wait for her. While we were waiting we had pictures made with Pluto because there was no one seeing him and we just love him. In a little while the characters went in and the other characters came out. Jasmine, Aladdin, Genie and Jafar all came over for a picture. It was wonderful. It was so true about Jasmine. She was so sweet and loving to the girls. Aladdin was also. It was well worth the wait.
We went and saw The Little Mermaid show since we had not seen it since it had been revamped. It was great! I like it much better now. I loved it before but love the changes they have made. We had a few minutes before Playhouse Disney started so we went over for a picture in front of the Brother Bear sign. It was so funny listening to the Moose talk. The CM that sat us for Playhouse Disney was wonderful!!! I just thought about I should have been posting all the CM names. I tried to do a lot better this trip and write down their names. Mike is very good about remembering them but I usually forget their names. The girls stayed in their wheelchairs but were still able to go right up front. They had great seats! The show was wonderful and all the girls loved it.
It was getting late in the day and we wanted to head over to MK before it closed to get a Dole Whip. They were closing at 6:00 for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We were hoping to be able to see the park transform some for the party. On our way in we saw some of the decorations. Made us even more excited about our upcoming trip. We almost purchased tickets to go that night but we knew we would all be to tired to stay until 12. We got our pineapple float and sat down to watch all the people come through in their costumes. Everyone was so excited. It was a very neat feeling to share with all those coming for the party. We went over to Cosmic Ray's to get the girls something to eat then we took our time walking out. It's really funny because earlier in the day I mentioned to Mike that we never saw anybody from our hometown unless of course we knew they were coming and we were meeting them. As I was taking a picture of the Halloween decorations someone came up behind me and said do I need to take a picture for you. I turned around and it was a friend from home. Mike and Michala were already headed to the exit. I hollered for them. He was so excited to see them. We sat and talked with them until almost 7. About them it looked like we might get kicked out so we headed to the exit. Our friends had just gotten there and were staying the whole week on the Fairytale Package. I wish we could have spent a couple of days at the park with them and seen their excitement. They were very excited that night and had only been there for 3 hours. The magic of Disney. We can't wait to talk to them when they get back.
We were meeting some friends at Sonny's for dinner so we headed right over there. They had spent the day at Universal. By the time we got there the girls were sleeping. We decided we would just tell them goodbye and head back to the room. We picked up McDonald's again and headed back to the room. I am not sure what happened but once we got back to the room, got the girls baths, got them fed and their medicines, I was so sick. Mike thought I was just exhausted but it didn't feel that way. I collapsed and didn't wake up until morning. When I woke up I felt fine.
The next morning we loaded up the van and headed out. We always stop by Downtown Disney before heading home. We had to go in World of Disney just to shop a little. Remember we were in search of the Belle snow globe. We just knew we could find it there. No luck. Come to find out it has been retired. I had to go to the scrapbook store just to see if they had anything different. I hoping that one day they will sale individual sheets of paper and stickers. They did have the new Halloween scrapbook kit that will be great for our Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party pictures. We stopped by Pin Traders to see if they had Kim Possible cheerleading pin but no such luck there either. Went in Once Upon A Toy Store to get the girls and our friend some of the Mr. Potato Head parts. The CM that waited on us said the new parts should be in by the end of the month. We can't wait!
We had lunch at Wolfgang Puck's because we had never eaten there before. The food was different but very good. It was a neat and different experience.
The ride home was very nice. The girls did great!!! Thanks for sharing our vacation with us. We hope it gave you a little piece of how it was. Hope you enjoyed it.
