Another magic maker question

this time its about the card you get in the mail. Do you need to register it with anyone? What is the card used for? Is it so the photographers scan it when they take your picture instead of using your magic bands?

I'm a little confused and why I need the card.

The card is for people who aren't staying on property and therefore won't have Magic Bands. You could bring it as a back-up too.
