Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

just wondering why if it is spring I fell on my *** on the ice yesterday

If you didn't bounce back up it isn't spring:jester::duck: Hope you're feeling ok, those tailbone bruises can take forever to heal. Getting ready to change into shorts & a short sleeve t-shirt to head out for a walk. Yet we still can't completely rule out the possibility of more snow for another 3 weeks or so.

Hmmmm.....not sure I should tell you. You might be undercover. But I can say:
Sup Homes? You roll by my crib lata and we get crunk tonight, aight?

No joke, I teach some wormy little 5 foot, 130 lbs soaking wet and fully clothed teen boys that think they are gang members and talk like that. If I redirect them in class they glare at me and I think "little boy I'm 5'10" and over 200 lbs, I-will-squash-you!"

I worked in LA's inner city where my kids were gang members, 17 years working there. I have stories that could last for days, including student funerals I attended. It was rough.

Now I work with what my LA students would call "wannabes" and they are actually worse. Not with outside stories or funerals, but just with trying to act tough and not really getting what true tough is.

This year I have half high school and half K-8. I have never worked with Elem. before but wow, I really enjoy it! And it is calmer. I just want to a job fair and focused on K-8. I think I am too old to deal with classroom management in the high school anymore. I also really enjoy the small group rather than classroom groups.

Guess I am just getting OLD.

All I know is when we were in San Antonio TX for DS's Air Force graduation we ran into NO drug cartels. Not that we needed any drugs and were upset but we did spend a half an hour looking for a liquor store for DH's beer and my rum!!! Apparently they don't have beer at party store/gas stations, grocery stores or Walgreens in the area where we were looking! :car:

Are they opiate plants? Thought they'd be bigger.

;)

:duck:

:p
:lmao:Study up a little bit jevsie - Google is your friend. Hillbilly heroin is a chemical, not plant-based. Duh!! ;)

Oh, and for context, I'm referring to the "Should I Move" thread. Absolutely no offence to the Great State of Texas - Houston is actually a sister-city to Calgary. :wave2:

My entire day has been spent sitting at the Drs or the chemist.

My youngest son has a perforated eardrum and neglected to tell me. It's weeping and smells. He has some kickbutt antibiotics so should be good to go in a few days. But will stay home from school, isn't allowed swimming, needs to be careful in the shower yada yada..

I'm cross he didn't say something to me.

Given I was kept waiting for almost 2 hours (only 4 people in front of us!!) I also got them to redo his asthma management plan. No way was I wanting to make another appointment to do that and wait in the virus infected waiting room.

And, a rant if I may. People need to sit on their own chairs. Not have their butt spreading over onto my chair, my legs, taking up my area of my chair. And I also don't want hairy armpits getting waved in front of my face because the guy siting next to me is so close I can see his individual nostril hairs and wants to take up two chairs PLUS spread his legs out. Seriously. Need. A. Drink.

Oh man that's awful for your son, any idea how his eardrum became perforated? Didn't that cause him a lot of pain? Not sure how a kid could keep that under wraps.

Good job on knocking out the asthma sitch while you had the doc's full attention. Not sure what the whole deal with the chairs is, most doc offices around here have ample seating such that you normally can have some free chairs between people.

Hopefully you have the ingredients for a cocktail or three on hand. So you'll be the nurse/mom for a few days?

Rough day...:drinking1. Just keep reminding yourself that at least your health-care is affordable. It means that we're never allowed to complain about anything! ;)

That's exactly what I was thinking.

No ideas but speculation is from having recurrent grommets. Flying, cold and flu will pop mine. Also an old grommet user lol. We last flew in January so wouldn't be from then, hopefully. Could also be from an infection. Would have more answers if we knew about it straightaway.

The pain can be intolerable. He aint no snowflake that's for sure ;)

the chairs are not individual chairs but stuck together like this
four-seats-in-one-chair-gxt3da.jpg

Now I'm rolling my eyes so far back in my head I'm going to give myself brain damage.

A local in my town is now defaming a school nurse because her son got an essential vax apparently without her permission and against the kids wishes (wouldn't happen). The local is a known person who has several screws loose. She's written all over our BSS pages on social media and rang ghe council, her lawyer, the health commissioner etc. Complete whackjob.

 What's a grommet? (In this context I mean. My knowledge of grommets are limited to the holes I put my shoelaces through . )

We had a few hours of horror this morning as we were afraid our cat was terribly ill. She's 12 years old and was lethargic, not eating/drinking water and just generally not herself. Managed to get her into the vet who seemed to think it's not any end-stage issues so that eased our minds a bit. They're doing some lab work on her and we'll know more tomorrow. They gave her some B3 vitamin, some meds for queasy stomach, and some fluid so she doesn't become dehydrated. She's still not acting normal but we've done all we can today. I know everyone loves their pets but we're especially close to this cat. For most of her life we've worked from home so we've spent a lot of time together.

Sending get well soon wishes to your cat, Micca. I'm sorry she's not feeling well! Hope the vet is right and it's nothing too serious.

Today I came home from work, stoved up in my bed, watched Pitch Perfect on VH1, left it on VH1 and watched the new season premiere of RuPauls Drag Race and now am watching another showing of Pitch Perfect! What a productive evening!

Hey, I had the same evening!! I did not really like the Lady Gaga outfit that won the 1st round. Predictable.

It is so lovely here rain, cold & dismal. I love spring in NE.

We had an eventful week, DGD #1 fractured her hip, gees she's 8 not 80:crutches::crutches: It's not real bad but the fall during her competition scared the crap out of the entire audience. So she is getting 3 weeks of sympathy & tons of get well gifts. Oh and tiny little crutches:crutches:

That would scare the crap out of me too! The upside for her is that she's old enough to know how to work it for maximum effect--"I'm starting to feel a little uncomfortable, could someone get me some ice cream?" ;) Will she miss 3 weeks of school? That seems like a lot this late in the school year but I'm sure they'll work with her. I hope she's feeling ok and a certain grandmother will bestow some Disney toys/games to keep her occupied. :)

Oh my sorry to hear about your cat. How scary they become such a part of the family. Get well soon kitty!
