Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Can someone come pack for me??? Yes, I'm whining. No, I don't care! :P I HATE packing!!!

I'm sorry you haven't found someone to help yet. Moving, in general, is an ordeal. We've moved all over the U.S. 9 times now, it doesn't get any easier and we were always fortunate enough to use professional movers to pack and transfer. At least you're staying in the same area so you'll still have your friends around, familiar surroundings, etc. So is Nov. 1 move-in day?

I do have some people lined up to help on moving day (the 29th). I've moved all over the country too. 20 moves in 20 years!! :crazy2: But I was married and had help then. It's all me now!

20 moves in 20 years is crazy! I do not envy you the actual packing/moving part, but it would be nice to experience different places. Glad you'll have help on moving day!

Packing up an entire life is such a hard job. Whenever I've moved I blow myself away by how much stuff I've managed to acquire since the last move.

Anyway, it's a lovely day in the Valley - as in the sun is out but not particularly warm. Have a good day y'all :flower:

For it to be fall, it has been hot as Hades here again this week. Today was horrid. Supposedly a cold front is on the way. If it fails to arrive, I'm boycotting the northern hemisphere and coming to visit you and your not particularly warm part of the world.

LOL. It'd heat up here soon enough. I saw my first king brown snake the other day. On the road with tyre marks on it :thumbsup2 I'm not even going to apologise for being happy about it, brown snakes are aggressive and a pain in the bum to live with.

Aren't they venomous, too? My daughter loves watching the nature shows about all of the deadly creatures in Australia, and it seems like one of them mentioned the brown snake.

Ack! I was curious and googled that snake. I am NOT visiting Australia. You guys have a top 10 list of most dangerous snakes, and the brown snake is at the top. Does this mean there's more than 10 dangerous snakes in Australia?! I'm used to watching out for copperheads, cottonmouths, and rattlers, but that's only three. I do not blame you for being glad that snake was dead!

We have copperheads here as well, and tiger snakes. I'm not fussed about those though because they tend to be a little on the shy side.

Oops. My bad. Apparently you guys have several types of brown snakes, and the king is a mere #6 on the most dangerous list. The eastern and western varieties are #1 and 2. Still, not cool.

You know you've got some scary snakes when you don't have to worry about all of the venomous ones. Not to mention you have a snake known as the DEATH adder, but it's not at the top of the list even though death is in its name.

No, my bad. I live on the Eastern coast, so eastern brown not king on the road. Not sure why I wrote king.

The upside is that death by snake bite is less common now due to medic advances. That said, I would always strap, phone ambos, start driving to the hospital should one of us get bitten.

And as something a little amusing, the school here does snake bite kits as fundraisers every few years or so lol.

:rotfl2:I can't wait to share that with my daughter.

Seriously, though, a snake bite kit sounds like a good thing to keep around.

We have "meetings" in our supermarkets where people decide to stand and chat with others in the middle of the aislesmaking it impossible for anyone else to get past. One of these days I might lose control of my trolley and send it flying down the aisle creating a pile up.
I always say that we are having a council meeting when I stop at the store in the morning for coffee and you can't get to the dispensers because the police chief and one of the councilmen are occupying prime real estate in front of them. If I take long enough fixing my coffee I can pick up some good gossip though :)

It has been crazy warm here too, unseasonably so. Our high for yesterday was 86! By Saturday morning we are supposed to get to in the low 40s. It feels more like June than late October.

Snakes scare the daylights out of me, when in was in Tennessee I was walking in the grass barefoot and my aunt warned me against hiding snakes. After that I was all about the shoes.

:scared: God bless the dark, frozen north where nothing thrives unless it can wear mitts and a toque 8 months a year!! -3 C today with a chance of flurries and nary a snake in sight!!
