Another interesting article..

Wow that is really interesting - and scary! Who would have thought???

Sorry, but this is a little OT:
Recently my uncle started drinking the "stuff" (an all natural blend of fruit juices, etc.) that is supposed to help with inflammation. It has helped my cousin so much that she was able to stop her Remicade (arthritis) treatments. He is trying to get me to try it for the abdominal inflammation that I am suffering with right now. I hadn't planned to, but after reading this article I'm tempted to try it! (www.mymonavie.com) Have you ever heard of this stuff?

I have heard of that drink... the acupuncturist was talking about it the other day. I think the Monavie from what I was reading is sort of the same type of thing. Someone else sent Tom something they drink as an antioxidant...it is called Xango and you can look it up using that name. It does not taste real good, but you only have to drink 1 to 3 oz a day... he can do that..

This was a young girl that he sort of mentored in his office, the age of my youngest daughter, she sent him a case of this drink...kindness of strangers so to speak....Tom is making the effort to drink it as she sent it to him.. I just went to the site and did a bit of reading.. it cannot hurt if he can drink the 1 to 3 oz daily. She drinks it herself and swears by it..

it's amazing how much teeth affect everything( know i've seen it for heart disease, i finally started diabetes education last night and they mentioned it can throw blood sugar way off) who'd a thunk it

i was surprised that pancreatic rate is so high(4th)...i had an uncle who had it but that was yrs ago..doesn't seem like things have changed since then unfortunately...it's weird how it seems like some illness get bushel baskets of money thrown at them and others hardly anything..like i just read how more people with breast cancer are cured than not.. like 80 or 90 %( pardon my bad memory if that is not the right amount but it was close to 100%) .which is great but you wonder why they havent' done as much with other ones

I knew about teeth, plaque causing clogged arteries and directly connected to teeth..

About Pancreatic, years ago when you got this diagnosis, it was over. Alan Whipple developed this surgery, named after him, the Whipple procedure...(http://www.answers.com/topic/allen-whipple) and it gave people some hope. I think that since the death of Michael Landon from this disease and a few others that will surprise you, there has been more awareness..

I have actively involved in a group that raises money for research on Pancreatic, there are a couple of active foundations working on this. What I am saying, years ago, no awareness of this...once it is brought out in the public and talked about, lobbyists fighting in Washington, there may be more hope for patients who have this dread disease.

It happened with Breast Cancer, more awareness... we need more awareness on all of them. For PC... they are moving in the right direction but at a snail's pace, they have isolated the mutation that passes it through families, which is a big deal...it would be nice to have a cure in our lifetime for all of it.

Thank you for the article, it was an interesting read.

Looks interesting. I was just told I should be on an anti-inflammation diet, so I'm cutting out a few foods (already had most of them) and taking norwegian cod liver oil with a ton of omega-3s.

So the site said to contact a dealer to purchase, but no other information? DO you know how to buy it?

I am tempted to post this on the CB, but sometimes wonders if anyone else cares..

VERY interesting! Thankful that I have good teeth and gums, but my DH needs to pay attention!

And the aforementioned anti-inflammatory in my previous post - another thing I was told to do was to take pancreatic enzymes to help digestion and help calm the inflammation.

A good way to help your pancreas is to cut out processed foods! I did that several years back - went wholly organic and feel it was both a cause of the emergence of Graves disease (autoimmune disorder) and the reason why I remain in remission.

Here is my Uncle's site. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to get them to buy it from him. I didn't realize that you couldn't just buy it from the web site.

I found this thread through the search function... Do you mind telling me if your Uncle is a distributor in NC? I am pretty new to MonaVie myself and am trying to contact others in the area.

Thanks!

That's really interesting, because my mom has pancreatic cancer and has had bad gums her whole life. She always had to get painful gum treatments of some kind of another, although at almost 83 she doesn't wear dentures and has her own teeth, except for all the molars.

I thought the info. was very interesting too! After researching MonaVie I have even found that there have been studies (Univ. of Florida) where eating/drinking the acai berry (the "star" of Monavie) resulted in killing cancer cells! And, I also saw a video of a Dr. saying that he is a Hospice Cancer Dr.....and when someone asked if it would help their friend that currently has cancer, he said that it could greatly improve their life, and if they've been given at least 90 days to live, there was the chance it could reverse it! My Grandmother died 3 years ago from pancreatic cancer, and my Mom & i can't help but wonder if the acai in MonaVie could have helped her.

And re: the gums...yikes! :scared1: I have had bad gums forever, and the Dentist said they'll always probably be like that. I will be taking better care of my teeth now!

Thanks for the article. My daughter is a dental hygienist. I'm going to forward it to her.....as I am sure she will be interested.
