Another inside stateroom question..

Have any of you been on Mission Space and had a panic attack (or near) but did well in an inside stateroom on a classic ship? We went to WDW this summer and I rode Mission Space from the green line. It was THE worst experience ever. I get claustrophobic (used to have recurring dreams of being trapped too) but am fine in elevators, etc. Even with the warnings I thought it would be fine. The worst 3-5 minutes of my life. Anyway, I've booked an inside on the Magic and feel it should be ok. But will it be? The room is not a closet. It will have plenty of space for me and my son. I only feel sea sick in the forward part of the ship. I'm not an out and about person but with an inside I doubt I'll spend a ton of time in the room. So what do you all think? Should be fine, right?

Thanks for the help. :)

you asked for opinions so here it is: you think you MIGHT get claustrophobic (and we know that claustrophobia is a reaction to perceived tightness of space).....so, you already have a mindset.

Now, the comparison to Mission Space is specious. 2 completely different atmospheres.

So, given that you are already on a pre-set to be claustrophobic and your triggers are not described and/or unknown, WHY WOULD YOU RISK RUINING YOUR VACATION WITH AN INSIDE CABIN?!?!?!?!?!

it just plain makes no sense.

I hope you have an excellent vacation and you can battle the demon if need be...

On our family cruise, the first night my adult DD slept up on deck due to feeling constrained. The crew did not bother her and after that first night she was fine in the room. That may or may not with your son be an option.
Also, if you feel too closed in taking a shower/bath, you can use the showers in the gym area, they are quite a bit bigger than those in the cabins.

Because it's all I can comfortably afford.

the inside staterooms are not NEARLY as small as the Mission Space capsule.

It is more like a small hotel room with no windows.

The bathroom might be an issue though, as that bathroom is very small.

They won't allow you to prop open the front door.

Oh that I know. I've been inside one. Just never stayed in one. I misjudged my level of claustrophobia on that ride and just wanted to hear other stories from people who've stayed in these cabins. Sounds like it will be fine.

I wonder why there's the door issue? That's interesting. Thanks for that info.

I was REALLY worried before my cruise. REALLY REALLY REALLY! I will tell you that I never had one single moment of claustrophobia in my room.

I will stay on an inside room next summer. We were on the Dream and have a verandah room and we NEVER use ite. I didnt like to sit out there when the ship was moving. So for next year I have an inside room and save like $700.
