Another Hotel thread!

Aren't there new hotels that are going to be opening by then within walking distance? I can't remember their names, and I'd love to google search them if anyone could tell me :) Thanks
There's a new Courtyard by Marriott and Homewood Suites. I believe there are others but those are the two I've looked at, they both have waterparks.

Are the walkable or shuttle only?
Depends on what you consider walkable. We've stayed at DoubleTree which is 1 mile away and we would make the walk to the park in the morning and use ART at night. Both of the new ones are closer than that. I was hoping that Homewood would open in Aug for upcoming trip but I think it's scheduled for Sept, oh well maybe next year.

1 mile is walkable for us (subject to change at any moment with a toddler).

So now I'm looking at and thinking maybe the Fairfield inn by Marriott?

I really like the GCH idea but these others are half the price and we are staying 5 other nights in Cali so need to budget for them all.

Your "must have's" make it a bit challenging:

  • within easy walking distance
  • on site restaurants
There are a LOT of good off-site options within easy walking distance...HUGE plus since you'll have a toddler with you. It makes it VERY convenient to get back to your room for an afternoon nap if your child is still a napper. BUT the on-site restaurant requirement eliminates most of your choices.

There are many hotels that are NOT within walking distance that have on-site restaurants, but you would need to either drive to a DL parking lot or take the ART shuttle. This makes taking a break back at the hotel more challenging.

However, there are several food options along Harbor Blvd. Decent options, too. BUT they are not necessarily inside the hotel. They're next door. Pizza Press has good quality food & is affordable and it's counter service...convenient for a hungry/cranky toddler who can't really wait 30 min for food to arrive.

  • Near the corner of Harbor Blvd & Disney Way is Tony Roma's.
  • Next to the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn on Harbor Blvd is Denny's.
  • Between BW Park Place Inn & Park Vue Inn is Cold Stone Creamery and IHOP. Stay away from Captain Kidd's.
  • Between BWPPI & Tropicana Inn is The Cove Market & Cafe (according to Google Maps).
  • Between Tropicana & Camelot Inns is Pizza Press.
  • Between Camelot Inn & Fairfield Inn is McDonald's.
  • Inside the Fairfield Inn is a Pizza Hut Express and a Seattle's Best Coffee & Market.
  • On the corner of Harbor Blvd & Manchester Ave is Mimi's Cafe (near Hojo's).
  • Plus you can always order food from Marri's to be delivered (http://www.marrispizza.com/).
If you want a hotel with inside corridors, that eliminates a lot of options along Harbor Blvd...it eliminates motels like:
  • any of the rooms at Hojo's in the 2-story buildings
  • Candy Cane Inn
  • BWPPI
  • Tropicana
  • Camelot Inn
  • Carousel Inn
  • Park Vue Inn
  • Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites
  • Ramada Maingate at the Park

Thank you! That helps actually, I should adjust to say food very close, close enough that if DD is napping one of us can get coffees or snacks without going crazy far, or pick up a drink or snack if she goes to bed early. Doesn't necessarily need to be in the hotel, now that I'm starting to understand the area more!

If I adjust to say that do you have a hotel you recommend?

The Marriott Fairfield Inn is nice. The pool is in the parking lot. No kid pool.
I LOVE the Candy Cane! It is very walkable but has a free shuttle. Free parking, and a Deluxe Cont breakfast!
The pool is very small, but pretty with flowers everywhere! Also, a Hot Tub....

It's my favorite on Harbor!

I hope you have a FUN trip!

One of the new hotels is the Courtyard Anaheim Waterpark. It is located really close to the Hojo, near the McDonalds and Mimi's Cafe. It's supposed to be opening this month I believe. We'll be staying at the Courtyard Warerpark next year with our then 4 year old and 8 month old.

I will second the Park Vue Inn. We stayed there last summer with 4 kids, and it was great. SHORT walk to and from the parks (makes all the difference if you have to leave for naps, or after a long day when you are exhausted), great free breakfast, comfy beds, free wifi... Yes, the pool is in the parking lot, but that didn't bother us in the least. Plenty of restaurants around the area, not to mention Downtown Disney a short walk away.

So many great options now! So much additional information I really appreciate it!

Mimi's is across the street from HoJo...so it is close. They also have a small market onsite.
We also stayed at the Park Vue recently and had a great stay. You can't beat how close it is to the parks...free parking and hot breakfast was great too.
I have also stayed at HoJos, FFI and CCI...and I would recommend them all. You definitely get more bang for your buck at PVI.

This time I'm staying at the majestic which used to be a Sheraton. Very nice, big rooms, restaurant on site, and dedicated shuttle which is wonderful at night. $119.00 a night.

I apologize if this has been answered a trillion times already, but I just got tagged to make a business trip out to Orange County and don't have a lot of time to research. While I am out there, I might have some free time to do a last minute visit to DL/DCA. My business travel requires that I stay at the Sheraton Park Hotel instead of a Disneyland Hotel. I understand that the Sheraton is among the Good Neighbor Hotels. Does staying there gain me any sort of early entry to one or both parks? I did not book my stay through Disney, if that matters. It all had to be done through Corporate Travel, so I just have a "room only" reservation. TIA.

No its only for PPH DL and GCH that you get early entry every morning, however if you get a park hopper of 3 or more days you do get one early entry to Disneyland only

Got it. Thanks. I was on the fence as to whether to get a 2 day or a 3 day, so I guess this puts more weight on the "3 Day" side.
