Another Hotel Question

This is kind of silly since I have been to DL a number of times and this question gets asked so much. We usually stay at the DI&S or Best western across the street since the past trip have been my sp nd children.

This next trip I am thinking of taking my teenage (15) daughter (in the US & with me 10 months). Since she has no history with anything disney and little history with family, it will be a different trip. I want it to be a good trip for both of us (ie: not ruin mine because of cultural/family issues). I am pretty flexable so there probable won't be any sit down meals, etc.

I want to pick the right hotel. She likes to swim and work out. It doesn't have to be a fancy hotel or expensive. It doesn't have to be right across the street but close enought to go back and forth if we decide to. I am thinking of going in June since we have a week or two free. I don't think HoJos will work for us. Any suggustions?

Thank you!!!!!

well can you day why Hojo's won't work, is it distance? no breakfast?

No hotel that I know of is going to have a workout type pool.

Tropicana is right across the street from the park. Small rooms but nice. No breakfast.

Candy Cane Inn is a very very nice hotel. About the same distance as Hojo's but in the other direction but they have a free ****tle that runs every 15 minutes. The rooms at Candy Cane are large and very nice and clean. They have a very nice pool area and have a free continental breakfast that includes bagels, toasts, cereals, etc.

I haven't stayed at the Anaheim Plaza hotel, but from acquaintances and comments on these boards, it sounds like a clean, serviceable hotel. The parts that you may be interested in are the Olympic sized heated swimming pool and the fact that the hotel is a walkable distance from Disneyland.

Anaheim Plaza has a great pool. Candy Cane is a pretty motel, has a smaller pool. Hilton would be a nice place also. Candy Cane adn Hilton would be my girls choices.

Thanks, everyone!

Minuet888 - she will think the pool is for babies. She is 15 going on 30 sometimes.

It looks like the Candy Land will be the best. It has a pool and a workout room. I like the Anaheim Plaza hotel but having the work out room will get rid of some of her energy! Since she will probable do some of the rides once and then be done, it will be nice to have the pool & work out room. It will not be our normal "disney" trip. We went to Great America yesterday and she was done in 2 hours - including lunch! Atleast with the pool & workout room, I can let her go back by herself. I stay for a little longer and enjoy Disney the way I like.

Are you sure you want to take her to Disney? I guess I'm a little confused by the 'done in 2 hours - including lunch' comment. I would hate to be at Disney with someone like that. They'd want to be hanging out at the boring hotel, while I'd want to be riding rides and soaking in the Disney atmosphere. I think I'd be miserable!

I think she will have fun but I don't think she will ever be a fan or see Dinsey the way we see it. She would be fine hanging at the hotel pool and fitness center by herself for a few hours. While it wasn't my kind of disney trip, the last time I took one of my other daughters, she wanted to go back to the hotel and color instead of staying at DL. My 3rd one is afraid of a lot of the rides, tea cups are her fav, and we spend a lot of time walking around.

One of these days I'll get to DL by myself for a few days and see it the way I want. oF course by then I may not remember what my way is and spend the day walking around followed by an afternoon at the pool ending with coloring in the room!!!!:lmao:
