Have been reading these boards for awhile and have seen many hotel questions and I read them all but they never seem to answer my question. I am from Canada and have limitted resources. My wife and I have went twice to Disneyland and have both times stayed at the super 8. It is cheap (less than 60 a night) and we found it clean and friendly enough and not too far a walk from the park. Last year we adopted a little girl (now 2 and will be 2 and 3/4 when we hope to attend DL). She will need naps and all those things and closer to the park would be better. We are not worried about fancy pools and such. What we need is a bed and clean and as close to the park as we can get at a good rate. We would pay a little more to be closer to the park but our budget is limitted. What are your thoughts on a good hotel close enough to leave the park for naps but still CHEAP. lmk.

I'll be staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn I'm paying $99 a night and it's at the pedestrian crossing to go to Disneyland. There is also the HoJo just down the street that can be reasonable, but a little more expensive. It was $130 for the end of February. They do offer discounts though.

There is also the Candy Cane Inn which is nearby and around $90 a night.

Depending on the time of year you go, you might be able to get a good deal at some of those places the PP mentioned. We like Hojos and Candy Cane Inn a lot. You can only get the cheapest $59 per night rate at Hojos if you have an entertainment card and happen to be going for the dates that they are offering these special low rates. Check this out: http://www.boards.hojoanaheim.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

The cheapest Candy Cane seems to get right now is $95 per night. That's for a standard room on the "manager's special." I'm assuming that this rate is being offered for dates that are very not busy at that property. The advantages of Candy Cane is that it's a walkable distance, there's also a dedicated free shuttle, and there's a decent continental breakfast. Both Candy Cane and Hojos give free parking.

A place I see that gets mentioned on these boards often for an inexpensive walkable option is the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites. It's a little bit closer to the parks than Hojo and Candy Cane so, therefore, walkable. I haven't stayed there myself. A friend of mine who did stay there described it as an older property but clean and safe with large size rooms.

Have you checked out http://www.anaheimdesertinn.com/ for your stay? It is one of the hotels right across the street and it has a free (limited item) breakfast.

We also have done the Camelot, HOJOs (no breakfast), Tropicana, Best Western Park Inn, Candy Cane Inn (further down but dependable shuttle).

The Desert Inn and Suites, Tropicana and HOJO are the ones you are most likely to find a rate in the 60-70ish range.

We like the Fairfield Inn. It has a hotel feel, in that you have to walk through the lobby to get to the rooms that are on the second floor and above, so you feel safe. Beds are super comfy, but I wouldn't pay extra for the 'theme' room.
It is about a ten minute walk. Our room this trip is at 119. per night.
I like to scan the website too incase the price drops then have my reservation changed. I have already dropped from 129.00 to 119.00 by doing so.

Editted to add: Check out the trip advisor web site. They have great hotel reviews and photos posted by guests. You have to take everything you read with an open mind as everybody's expectations are different but over all a really great rescource.

We are staying at the Carousel Inn July 27 - Aug 4. They are now partners with Disboards. All we had to do was mention we are disboard members and received a big discount. We are staying 8 nights for $851. That averages out to $106 a night will all taxes included. On their website they give a good discount if you stay 4 nights or more, it was going to be $120 a night. But with the disboard discount, you can't beat the price. Last year we stayed at the Fairfield Inn across the street and only took about 5 minutes to walk to the park. Just wanted a little change of pace and Carousel offers a free cont. breakfast!

We have the same priorities when finding a hotel. Inexpensive, close enough for naps for a 2 year old, and pool not an issue. We have stayed at Anaheim Plaza and Alpine Inn for about $59-$65 per night. We usually go in October or April, so I'm not sure if that factors into the prices for either. The reviews are always mixed for both, but we have stayed at both multiple times and have never had a problem. Alpine is a longer walk, but takes you right past a 7-11 on your way to or from the park, which is nice.

Hope that helps. Have so much fun. Your daughter will love it!
