As I was checking out prices for the Hoop-Dee-Doo and noticing how the price just keeps climbing, I noticed that the total price includes tip and gratuity. Has the ticket price always included gratuity? We've gone about 4 times, but none in the last two years. Seems like we left a tip on the table as I recall gulping at the amount of the tip for 6 people to eat there!

Maybe it was just the price of the pictures they took. Have you ever tipped on the table at the Hoop-Dee-Doo?

went to the HTD for the first time in Sept 2000. Price included taxes and tip. (we were only a party of 3 - two adults and 1 child)

Also went in Oct of 2001 - same deal as above.

Went most recently in June of 2002 - this time was a party of 8 - qualified as a "group" and had to pay for everything (all meals, tax and tip) ahead of time.

We have never left a tip on the table over the 18% that is factored into the price of the event. I assumed that we weren't supposed to, although the last time i wanted to....our server was excellent! (We did send a nice note after returning mentioning the server by name and commenting on his adding to the Magic of our Disney vacation.) I am not sure if they can accept them at places where tip is factored into the price of the event. If a CM out there knows the skinny on this i would love to hear it.

The pictures were never included in the price of the event for the times we were there. They come to the table with the prints and offer them for a price that you fork over then and there.

I did not notice a price increase from 2000 to this past June, but then again this year was the only time i paid a "non - discount" price for this event. (in 2000 we used "flexes" from our Discovery Magic Package and in 2001 we got the discounted rate for paying by AmEx, going to the 9:30 show and staying at the campground.)

In 1996 the tip was not included and I remember the wiatstaff reminding everyone of that fact and then leaving a small card at the table with the amount I had paid for the meal to "help" me figure out the tip!
I wrote Disney about that because I thought the reminder was tacky. This year we went and the tip was factored in to the price. The waitress was so very nice to my son that I wanted to give her a little extra. I handed it to her on the way out. They can accept more, but 18% is a very fair tip.

nice to know they can accept an additional tip if you feel they deserve it. (Some CM's - at HTD or other places - really do go beyond the call of duty - even by Disney standards.)

thanks

In 1996 how much was for the meal and how much was for the show or did they consider the whole amount as what needed to be tipped for?
