Hi all! I've just discovered this board and it seems there's a lot of great info to be had here on Disneyland vacation planning. We're planning a trip in March and I'm looking into hotels right now. Which brings me to my questions.

1. What is Ent. Rate? Is that a coupon in the Orange County Entertainment book? Or is that the rate for someone who works in the entertainment industry? I just made a reservation and the lady told me that I would have to bring my entertainment ID. I was thinking that was the rate from the Entertainment Book. Am I wrong?

2. What is the difference between HOJO and Plaza Anaheim (or something like that)? I just reserved a room at Plaza Anaheim, but now I'm reading that HOJO is better. But I thought Plaza Anaheim was a HOJO. :confused3

3. Okay, this one isn't a HOJO question. There is a special going on right now of which you buy 3 nights and get 2 nights free at participating hotels. This special apparently includes a 3 day hopper pass. This sounds like it could be a good deal too. But how do you know which hotels are participating?

I feel like I need to take a college course on Disneyland Vacation Planning!! ;)

Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi! We check in at the HOJO on Thursday! Eeeeee!!! :) When I booked I used the Disboards rate (there's a four letter code) that I think is the same as the Entertainment rate. Maybe. I am not sure. (Maybe I should take that course with you, huh?!) lol!

I think the Plaza Anaheim is different. But again. I don't know. :P

Good luck!

The entertainment rate is for the entertainment book. There's a membership card stickied in each book - that's what you need to show.

It is the rate from the Ent. Book. You need to show a card from ANY area, it doesn't have to be Orange Cnty. It just needs to be for the current year. You only get this rate by calling IN HOUSE reservations during business hours. Here are the dates the great rate is available.

HOJO is Howard Johnson Plaza (on Harbour Blvd.). They are the one that offer the great Ent. Card Rate.
There is also a hotel called Anaheim Plaza Hotel (not a Howard Johnson) down the road. Maybe that is what is causing the confusion. There was a recent thread about it.

Possibly. But usually buying tickets and booking the hotel separately is the better deal, especially when staying off-site. I would price everything out and see what the better deal is. Not all off-site hotels participate in the buy 3/get 2 free deals.
