Another HH booking question~

How hard do you think mid-late May and the middle 2 weeks of September are for booking at 7 months?

I've heard the summer is near impossible and that's fine- we'd prefer to miss the worst of the crowds. I paid cash to stay at HH last year so we know we like the resort

Still trying to wrap my brain around all our options I wonder if we wouldn't be better of with points here since our preferred WDW resort is OKW which is relatively easy to get into- OTOH rising dues costs here have me a little worried and I think we'll need more points at WDW than we orginally planned as I expect we'll be hosting family a little more often than expected

As DVC gets more members it will only get harder to get into the smaller resorts so that's another thought...

but booking 7 months out for the above? How bad? We'd probably go one bedroom FWIW

You might be okay. I got a studio at the 7 month booking window for July 31-August 5 last year...the dead middle of summer. I believe there are more 1BR and 2BR at HHI, so as long as you call at the 7 month mark you may have a good chance to get the dates you want. Good luck!

We have a 1 bedroom booked this year for the long labor Day weekend....5 days total, end of august through the beginning of September. Got this at the 7 month window!

I spoke with hubby today for a bit and he's actually ok with the idea of us getting more points than the 100 figure we've been talking about

His basic response is - points will never go to waste no matter where we own at, we may not put the point to best or maximize value per say - but they'll never expire or not get used


Still if we're going with a higher number of points the dues factor comes up a bit more soo hmmm more think but we'll probably stick with OKW - they played 2 Jimmy Buffet songs we'll we were wandering about - he was sold w/out seeing a single room LOL!
