We have beeen going to Fw for over 10 yrs now and have always rented a golf cart from fw,I see that Golf cart ent is much more reasonable,so I think we will try them,I was wondering how much time in advance do i need to call? We will be going on Oct 5th.Also do they have a web site? Thanks for any info.

They used to have a website, but it hasn't worked lately. But, you can call them at 1-407-850-5559. I would call at least a couple of months in advance, if possible. They will take your credit card to hold it, but they won't charge it til the cart is delivered to FW.

Hi,

I wouldn't wait, call now to book the golf cart!!!
Also, if by the time you do get through to the bike barn they are sold out...check back for cancellations or cross your fingers that one maybe available when you get there (as they do hold a few back.) But, booking as far in advance as possiable is THE ONLY WAY to be gtd a golf cart when you get there.

Hope this helps...

We usd to always reserve our carts in advance, but then more and more of our trips have been on short notice and spur of the moment trips - we have yet to be declined a cart, we usually head over as soon as the bike barn opens, on our last trip we called the bike barn while we were in the check in line and they held one for us for 30 minutes. they now cost 43.00 a day so more seem to be available - some just won't pay that much, it is rather hard to fork that kind of money over. I guess we have to buy our own cart soon

I just saw on the Jeff Spence website that there is another comapany which delivers to FW. ( I think it's different anyway, I was just reading it off a link someone else had posted) Anyway that rate is 30/day or 175/ 7 day week. How does that compare to GCE?? I know it beats the hell out of Bike Barn. The name is Golf Carts of Central Florida and the number is 407-847-8533, I know GCE has moved due to reading other posts, have they also changed their name?? Or is this competition?? How do the rates compare??

Well, I just spoke to Shawn @ GCE yesterday and reserved a cart for our upcoming trip in Sept/Oct.
Their rates are 30/day or 150/7 day week. I went ahead and booked, and with delivery and tax the total is 212.00, which is about 100.00 cheaper than the bike barn.
I am happy:D

I think I am missing something here, why do you need a golf cart? To get to the bus stop? To travel around the resort? Can my 1 year old ride in it? We are going to FtW for the first time in Aug. Should I be tring to rent one of these carts? We plan to drive to the water parks and use a combination of Disney transportation and our car to get to the Theme parks.

Fort Wilderness is a large resort that is spread out, the electric cart makes it very easy to get around, they have have seating for 4 adults, they do not go very fast but its a lot quicker than walking:earseek: :earseek: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Plus the golf carts are a load of fun! For years they were the kids favorite ride!! It is a great way to unwind the little ones in the evening, and you get to drive around all the loops and look at everyone's site decorations.

It depends upon your little one--you may feel safe riding alone with a little child if they sit still and you can keep your free hand on him/her. My great-niece loved it (at 7 months, 12 months, and 17 months). On the last trip (in June) at first she wouldn't sit still but she very soon learned the rules and I would take her out alone.

How many people does the golf cart hold? We are going with our 4 little kids (3,5,6,8). Is that too many? By the way, are these carts electric or gas?

the carts that disney rents have seating for 4 adults, they are electric, the ones from Golf Cart Enterprises are simular but you have a choice between either a gas model or an electric model.

I have heard the gas model is a little faster, we have not yet rented from GCE.

Can you leave the carts parked somewhere so you can drive them back after a day in the parks? Does anyone ever bother them? do you need a credit card to reserve?

The Golf Carts from Ft Wilderness can be left anywhere in the campground,at the marina and at the bus stop by Pioneer hall there are electric hookups to plug them in. The pool also has a hookup. It is not necessary to plug them in all the time but they like you to keep them charged.I know to reserve one through the bike barn you don't need a credit card,I don't know about GCE.

We rented one last thanksgiving when we got to the campground. It was one of the best rides there!

We live on a barrier island and use our own golf cart to go to the beach and to the marina, so our kids love the riding around it one. We are thinking that if (er, I mean when) go back to FW, we will trailer our own golf cart down and use the saved money for breakfast each morning!

Happy trails
:smooth:

Can I leave GCE golf carts at the Marina and then go spend
the day at the MK? Are they also chargeable here?
Can a GCE cart be parked anywhere a FW cart can?

Thanks in advance.

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse...can you leave the golf cart at the pool??

Thanks tci1212....
We'll be there at the end of Sept with 2 young'uns....we're going to have a car so we may drive to the parks. We'd like
to stay by a pool because the kids love to swim.
Which pool is the best to be closest to (the kids are 8 and 5)?
Which loop should we request?
Is it better to be at the beginning of the loop so you don't have to walk to far to the bus stop, or does that get crowded?
Do you still recommend that we get a cart to go to the pool and campfires??? We'll only be there 4 nights.
Thanks!!!

We usually ask for loop 2500 which is near the quieter pool, and the laundry. It is not noisy at all. I always ask to be close to the end loop because my Mother is 85 yrs young and she doesn't like to walk to the bus. We don't use a car when we are there,we drive the golf cart to the marina and get a bus to Magic Kingdom.
