We were wandering around the gift shops in MGM, and saw the name badges like the cast members wear. They engrave them with you name for free, they are around $6. We got them for my girls. They turned out to be really fun. All the cast members were calling them by their names and every the characters was talking to them like they knew them. Hi Princess Emma how are you today etc.... It was very nice. Even the talking trash can in MK say Hey Emma and Olivia where are you from etc...

You can also get these from laughingplace.com if you want them before you go.

We were planning to buy some on our first day at MGM....which gift store stocks them ...can you remember
thanks :earsgirl:

I got some from the store that's attached to the Christmas store in Downtown Disney. It's the store that engraves/stitches personalized things. At least, that's where they were in June 2003.

At MGM it is a store on the right when you walk in just past the photo store. They also do embroidered towels, shirts and things.

They are still available through "Disney's Days of Christmas" in Downtown Disney - They are $6.00 and you can have them delivered to your resort.

The phone number to Disney's Days of Christmas is 407-828-2042. I ordered mine ahead of time - I'm surprising my husband 2b with his. :goodvibes

I read on a website the WDW does NOT make a princess badge (www.giftsofalifetime.com) but i found one on laughingplace.com. Any truth to this or is the one i found on is discontinued.

The "Princess" nametag is available only at Disneyland Resort in California and -- from what I could tell -- only from one store inside MK.

It is the only nametag I would bother purchasing online -- if one's DD absolutely must have one. The premium cost of ordering other items from Laughing Place and Gifts of a Lifetime is simply not worth the money when these items are readily available throughout the parks.

Save your money folks -- it's not worth the extra cost to get the things before your trip.

Maybe it's just me, doesn't anyone feel funny having your kids walk around with their name so readily available for anyone to see? Even at Disney some freak could possibly lure away your kid if they know your kids name. I'm making my nieces t-shirts for our upcoming trip, but I don't want to put their names on them because I don't want just anyone to know their names.

Does anyone else share my concerns? Maybe it's just living in NYC that makes me cinical, or maybe I'm just not trustworthy.

My kids all walk around with personalized sweat shirts, names on their jackets, last name across their backs in softball. We have Disney sweatshirts that have their name one them, air brushed shirts with their name. We have been wearing them for a few years now, and we havent had a problem. I never thought twice about because, like I said, my kids have their names on lots of things. My older 2 ( 10 & 12 ) know better, and my 3yo.. I have to make sure Im watching him.

My kids really do love those name tags though!!

Its just like getting your name embroidered on your Mickey ears :earsboy:

I bought my DD one of the pink Princess ones at Disneyland it was actually cheaper than the other ones. I got my oldest DD a purple Tinkerbell one and a gold DL 50th for me and SO.

They were cheap souveniers and the kids were thrilled!

They sell these at DTD also. We get one every trip for our DS and now need to get one for DD as well. He always likes it when they call him by his name - but mom mike like it even better since I am hoping they have a wonderful time !

No its not just you. It makes me very uncomfortable when people say they are wearing shirts, badges, name tags with their kids names on them also. While its a cute idea, you just never know and I would never want to take a chance.

I was just at Walt Disney World and in MGM they had the Princess Name Badges. It's in the 5 and Dime right past the photo shop on the right as you head toward the Magician's Hat.

But if you want the Stitch Name Badge you need to get it at Magic Kingdom in the shop attached to Stitch's Adventure or Escape but the Jeweler's on Main Street can impress the name.

All the badges now are blank and you can get them impressed with your name in MGM, Magic Kingdom and Down Town Disney. Ely
<who now sports a very spiffy Stitch Name Badge>

We all have the name badges, even the adults. The CMs often refer to us by name, but not always. Like on Tower of Terror, they kept asking me, by name, why we don't allow photography. I now know it is because we want to let the celebrities have there privacy! Anyway, the only thing you have to be careful of is people think you work there, especially if you have a pin lanyard on. A little girl wanted to trade pins with me! And somebody else wanted to know where lost and found was.
This year even my husband got one, and I think he secretly liked the attention.
