Another FP+ ??????

I have AP but am making a trip next weekend and staying offsite. Am returnning two weeks later and staying onsite. I can make FP+ reservations past March 14th for up to a total of 7 days.

Here's my question. Can I make a onsite reservation for 2/28/2014 then link it to my disney experience, then make FP+ reservations for 3/1 - 3/2 and then go back and cancel my 2/28/2014 hotel reservation and keep the FP+ reservations or will they cancel both when cancelling the hotel?

I'm not sure if the above comment is joking or not but I don't call it playing the system. I spend $1000's of dollars on annual passes and hotels and just because one particular weekend I'm not staying onsite I can't make advanced FP.

I'm sure it wasn't a joke. It doesn't matter how much money you spend all the other times. It matters that you are not staying onsite THIS time. I have no idea if it will work or not, though.

That's how the system is setup. Those are the rules. To not abide by them and find a loophole in order to book fastpasses makes you unethical. Disney doesn't owe you anything just cause you pay $1,000's of dollars on annual passes.

Everyone is missing the point. I am staying onsite. As an AP holder I can make FP+ plans for any time after that one night for a total of 7 days. I'm not cheating the system.
Mainly I guess the person without sin can cast the first stone.

Neither of us missed the point. Your OP was crystal clear. No one is throwing any stones. How exactly are you staying onsite if you will be canceling the reservation? Two weeks later you are staying onsite, but that doesn't mean anything. Do what you want. There is no need to justify it to anyone. There is no justification that makes it less shady. If Disney hasn't closed the potential loophole, that's on them. Have a great couple of trips.

Honestly OP try it out and see what happens. It's the only way for Disney to find a potential problem with the system and if it works then good for you. Bad for people who are doing it the right way.

Anyway, I don't think it will work, OP. Good on you for trying to find a way around the ridiculous restrictions, though!

I think it only works if you don't cancel the reservation. Which some people have done - kept and paid for the one night reservation, but stayed elsewhere.

People had said in other threads that once you cancel the reservation the fp get cancel too.
