Today opened my 60 day window...my fast passes are now made, and yet I have so much anxiety. I scheduled them all pretty early in the day since we will be doing RP, but I'm wondering if I should have made them later in the day since we will be there early, and can possibly get on a few things through the stand by entrances. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
Help, for those that have used them or have a better idea on the best way to utilize FP, please!

Well I did the opposite... We usually do two parks each day, so I made our FP+ selections for park #2, in the afternoon. I figured we would do rope drop at the first park each day and plan to walk on a few rides before lines built up. But now that we will soon be getting additional FP+, maybe I should have scheduled for the morning in hopes of pulling extras later. Eh. I'm leaving mine as is, I can only pre-plan so much without making myself crazy.

Most will tell you to change them to the afternoon or evening... it depends on if you plan to take an afternoon break.

On Presidents' Day, we entered MK at 8:30 and scheduled "day of" Fp+ for three rides beginning immediately (we were only in the park for a couple of hours). We didn't need to use them because all 3 rides had very short waits - Buzz was a walk-on.

It's better to schedule later Fp+ now than to try to reschedule once you are in the park. Plus, then you will have less anxiety second-guessing your plans! :)

I plan to do the same for our June trip (FP's can be scheduled in less than 2 weeks). Even with the possibility of a 4th after using the 3, I just prefer park hopping and having the 3 at the later park. The 1 additional day-of FP just isn't worth it imo. If we plan RD but don't have plans to hop that evening, I think I will schedule 3 FP's for early afternoon. I'm going during all "9"'s but taking my chances that early morning touring will be effective.

even with Disney adding the ability to have MORE FP+ after you use your first three...

my plan (before Disney announced this..) was to RD our am park, and have FP+ ressies for the PM park.

I think you have to consider the following
1) if you RD you will not really need FPs in the morning, specially if you do a smart order of rides (and have multiple (more than 1) RD mornings at the same park).
2) once you finish all three am FP+'s I am doubting the availability of FP+'s for what you want in your PM park...
unless they drastically change how you get the second set I think I'm still going to stick with my original plan... getting the second set of FP+s does not help (reliably) in the way they have described it.

Just watch the board and see how things develop. Be prepared to make changes as you see the mistakes that others make, or as your situation becomes more clear. You are not locked into anything. You will probably be able to change your parks/rides/times right up to the day before you walk into the parks.

DH and I went last July, and the previous august, during busy times. We still found the early morning touring to be very effective.

FYI, what I read made it sound like it might be more than one extra day-of FP+... More like, you pull the fourth and after you've used it you can pull a fifth, and so on. But who knows what rides/times will be available at that point? Especially somewhere like Epcot or HS.

How early in the day did you put them? Maybe put them at 1030-1130, 1130-1230 and then one in the afternoon. That way you can ride things from 9-1130 at RD, and then cash in your first FP.

If you see things change in the meantime on the boards regarding the 4th FP, you can flip the afternoon FP up to an earlier time and try to snag a 4th FP after you use your three.

When we were there mid-March, we hit RD and rode a bunch of rides SB with very little wait. We had lunch, and then we used our FP+ in early afternoon. We like to go back to the resort for a nap/swim, so making our FP+ reservations in early afternoon/after lunch just made sense for us.

There are so many different ways to tour and use FP+, that it really depends on what will be best for you and your group. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to not waste the FP+ for an early morning slot - you won't likely need it, as SB on most rides isn't very long first thing! Regardless, I completely agree with the previous poster who said to just keep an eye on things, because you can always move things around as you discover more info! :goodvibes

Thanks all...I've been stressing about it all day. I think I'm going to change some of my am's for some pm's and just keep following along.
