Another flight question for DH's business trip...

This is probably a very obvious question but since we've ALWAYS flown direct, non-stop flights, I don't know the answer!

DH is going on a business trip tomorrow and will have 3 legs to this trip: Boston to Portland with a stop in Detroit, then Portland to Toronto with a stop somewhere, and same thing on the way back.

Question: Does my DH have to go and retrieve his luggage in between flights and check it in again for the second part of the flights, or does the airline (he'll be flying North West) transfer the luggage for him??

Thanks :teeth:

If his flights are connecting all within the same airline, then he won't have to mess with his checked luggage in-between flights. He'll check it in for his first flight, and get it at baggage claim after his final flight. Same for the way back.

Thank you! :sunny:

I have neverhad a non stop flight, always connecting flights and almost always fly Northwest.

Be sure your DH makes sure his bags have the correct airport tag for his final destination. Mistakes happen.

He will get his boarding passes at one time for all his flights when he checks in. He should immediatley check the Northwest monitors when he lands at each airport to confirm his next connection gate and see if next flight is on time.
