I am in San Jose and someone outside a store tried to sell me a Coupon Book. I wasn't sure if ALLL the books have the Entertainment rate card or just the Orange County one? To get the special HoJo rate would I have to spend $20 on a coupon book for LA to save $20 on a room? Aren't those books city specific, so I couln't use the coupons in NoCal? If that is the case, it doesnt' make sense to me to get the book.

any info
thanks

The hotel discounts are available to anyone who purchases a book, no matter what city the book is for. The advantage of purchasing a local book is that you will get more discounts (food, attractions, etc) for that area. I always buy my local book (Nor Cal, East Bay....howdy neighbor) but take advantage of hotel discounts all across the country.

As for the HoJo discount, you can get rooms for $59, regular rate is about $129, so you are saving much more than $20, especially if you stay more than one night.

So I should have bought the book from the guy outside Dollar tree? I like those books and if I can get that rate it's worth it. I entered LMNR in the promo code for HoJo's and got some kind of discount but not the fancy one.

I just checked and I can get a local book at Barnes and Noble. I think I will get the book and get the room rate. Yay me  I thought you had to get the local OC book to get the HOJO discount but if I can use the coupons locally then it's totally worth it.

I live near SJ but couldn't find someone locally when I wanted to buy a book. If going back to Dollar Tree is not convenient, try their website. That's how I bought mine. It came in about 7 days.

Walgreen's usually sells the books, you may find one there. And every now and then there is a $5 off $20 purchase on walgreens.com that does work for the entertainment books.

As for the discount, there are a limited number of rooms available at the really cheap rate. If those are gone, then you get a smaller discount. Check out this thread on the HoJo discussion boards. It shows what dates are currently available at the $59 rate.

Just called Barnes and Noble and they have the books. You might want to enter your zipcode and see if any are in your area. I'm going to the one on Stevens Creek but Westgate said they also had them.
Running over to get one then gonna book my cheapo room!
