I'm sorry to post this here, but I wasn't sure where to ask this........What do you do when you have left feedback, but haven't received any back. :confused3 These are auctions that went very smooth, but they've been over for a couple of weeks. I paid immediately with paypal and I've already received my items, I'm just waiting for my feedback :bored:

I've been doing eBay for 8 years. There a quite a few transactions where I was either a seller or a buyer where I never received feedback even though I had left it.

When I first started out, I would send an email to the seller/buyer to politely ask them to leave feedback as I was trying to build my rating, but now, I just let it go.

Good luck!

Don't worry about it. Sometimes sellers are slow to leave it, sometimes they do feedback in bulk, and sometimes they don't leave it at all.

I would advise you against asking for feedback though.

I no longer leave feedbac until I recieve it if I am the buyer. In my opinion I should have gotten a positive as soon as they got my money - I had at that point fulfilled my obligation. When I recieve the item I send an email and let them now I am satisfied and that a positive will be left as soon as I recieve mine. If I never get it I do not leave it - I was tired of seeing total recieved was over 100 less then total left (yes , we ebay A LOT). I personally find the practice of sellers not leaving until after they get it obnoxious - as mentioned I did my part as soon as I payed (which is always within 24 hours of end of auction). Before I buy I chec the seller rating for two things - overall positive and do they leave "retaliatory" which is evident by the negative they leave every time they get a negative. IMO that should be impossible since they should have already left when they got payed. On a positive note I have only left negative 3-4 times in over 500 auctions - all of which the seller was "no longer a registered user" within a very short time after auction was over. Few things can't be resolved with an email or phone call.

I will just send an e-mail stating: "I received the item and left positive feedback for you about a week ago. I would appreciate it if you were to do the same for me." Usually I will then geet feedback within a day or two and sometimes also an e-mail thanking me for reminding the seller.

Unfortuantly, That happens a lot. Much like the Pirate Code, it is more of a guidline anyways. People use FEEDBACK as a blackmail weapon a lot of the time. They rarely represent a "TRUE" experience because people, like myself, are afraid to leave negative because of a retailiation NEGATIVE.

The best suggestion I can offer is to ask the seller a question about following up with feedback as you Paid quickly and left Positive yourself. THey may have just forgot.

For the record I recently sold an item to a person who has 35(+) feedback but they have NOT LEFT A SINGLE FEEDBACK ever. So I decided instead of boosting their rating and not getting nothing in return, I am going to hold out and wait. The worst that happens is that neither of us get feedback.

Just curious -why would you advise against asking for it? I have been ebaying for many years, and always send a short, polite email requesting feedback if they have not left it. Only once was my email ignored -every other time, the fb was promptly left. I think as long as you are polite and not accusatory in asking, you'll be fine.

How sellers and bidders leave feedback is an individual issue.

As a seller I don't leave feedback when a buyer pays. Yes most of the time, they have paid promptly, but that is not all that is involved in a transaction.

In my opinion, transactions are not concluded until the buyer receives their item and is happy with it. I email each bidder after shipment and put a note in every package asking bidders to email me to let me know the package arrived safe and sound, and once I hear from them, I will post feedback. Some bidders just leave me feedback, so I know that they have received the item in good order.

As a buyer, I post feedback for the seller and then email then to let them know the item arrived and feedback has been posted. If they choose to leave it fine....if not........whatever.

I can understand your frustration at leaving feedback for a seller (or a buyer) only to not have them return it. Some people never leave feedback as another poster demonstrated ---the person that had 35 FB and never left any for anyone else.

To the OP, if you emailed them once, then I would just let it go. Not all sellers/buyers treat other ebayers that way. There are plenty of us who are nice to deal with. :teeth:
