Just received an email from an ebayer that disturbed me on so many levels..... I'll just paste the body of it into this post:

"This email was sent by an eBay member via eBay's email forwarding system.
If you reply to the email, your response will go directly to the member not through eBay.

Dear eBay member,

I am sorry for contacting you this way but I saw that you are interested in buyng Disney Park Hopper Plus Tickets and these are 7 Day Park Hopper Plus Tickets, i have 8 tickets , 6 adult and 2 child. If you'd like to buy it, maybe we can do this transaction! .The price for 2 tickets is 300$ USD (shipping taxes are included in this price).
The package will be insured for any damage on the road, I'll be the one to cover the insurance taxes. I'm a genuine ebayer, with a large 100% positive feedback, please check it oneBay!! my userID is :****** and my email address is:*insert email here* All of my customers have been satisfied with my services, and I sure hope you will too.

Best Regards, and don't forget that I expect great seriousity!

Reply as soon as possible. Thanks!"

First of all they *saw* that I was interested in buying Park Hopper tickets??? I have no idea how they *saw* that, I've never even done a search for PH's. I have done searches for other disney stuff though. Second, they are offering to sell me an item off-site which is a violation of ebay policy. Third, they claim to have 100% positive feedback and their customers are satisfied. This person has never SOLD anything on ebay and has no feedback from *buyers* to back it up. Fourth, the expect "great seriousity" that's not even a word!!! If you're going to try and dupe someone, at least use good grammar!!!

Anyways, a word of warning, I know that nobody here would fall for something like this but if this clues anyone out there in to what horrible people are out there then this post has done it's job. I have reported this violation to Ebay and I expect they will handle it very quickly.

I deleted this person's contact info just in case they turn out to be innocent, however, the ebay name is crazyjo12000, buyer beware!

Thanks for reading!

Sounds like spam to me.

If he has never sold on eBay then he's NOT an eBayer, just a scam artist.

I was getting lots of pop ups on things I download until I started clearing out the spyware that attacked my system. I wonder if these things can give scammers like him info about what you're interested in? Does anyone know?

I would suggest if you have not yet erased the message forward it, with full headers, to spoof@ebay.com for them to take any necessary action.

I have reported it but it wasn't a spoof. this person is an ebay member but as a *buyer* not a *seller*. It came through the ebay message forwarding system, I'm thinking maybe because they had been checking disney items for the bid history and sending email to those who had bid on disney items. tickets is not something I have bid on, but I have bid on other things with Disney in the title.

I'm very well protected against spyware, after a major worm crash last week that started with spyware so I don't think it's a spyware issue. Hoping that ebay will respond to my complaint, I'll keep you posted as to how they deal with it.

Thanks all for the feedback!

That's probably the same seller hijacking people's accounts and trying to sell 7 day hoppers for $150. You should have played along and emailed him back to ask what form of payment he takes. If he says western union, I have no doubt it's the same person!

Thanks for the heads up. Although I would never buy park tix on Ebay, I do buy other Disney related items. I'm glad you reported him. Hopefully he will not get the chance to scam anyone.

It looks like someone saw your post on the DIS when you asked about park hopper tickets. I am sure it was disturbing, but, the guy does have 92 positives from people he purchased from. That leads me to believe he is honest. Personally, I would never buy tickets from ebay, but, I would be hesitant to call this guy a scam artist.
