:wave2: Hi All DVCer's
I feel silly asking this but being from Montana and realizing there are not to many others who have purchased DVC membership from my part of the country I was wondering how many of you are single DVC members? If you are single and are 30 years or older which resort do you prefer?
Besides loving WDW I am just looking for other things I might have in common with DVC members.
Hope to get some responses.;)

My son is an owner and he is 25. He just got back from a week at OKW with us and loved every minute of it. In fact he said he just might go next year. I would think that BWV or BCV is your best bet if you like more action, OKW if not. He asked his girl friend to go and another couple, so they had lots of fun.

Thanks Merilyn for your reply:) There are 8 of us planning on getting together at WDW next summer and hopefully staying in a 2 bdrm villa at OKW. My sister and I stayed on property for the first time in July and really enjoyed it. We also visited some of the other on property resorts. Since getting back from our trip we have been doing some research into DVC membership. I think we will try and take a tour when we are there next year to give us more of an idea of what the other DVC resorts are like. I think I saw a thread about what ages people were when they bought into DVC, I maybe should have read that one before posting my question. It could be of some help also. I really don't expect many responses so I am glad you wrote. :)

I like them all - but probably OKW - I just like more room - especially in a 1-bedroom and up.

now if you are talking studios and they are great for singles - then BCV, VWL, OKW, BWV in that order.

the studios at BCV, VWL and BWV plus the new SSR - have a queen bed and a sleeper sofa - OKW just has 2 queen beds - the bed and sofa is better for singles.

You can walk over to PI/DDW - from OKW - it is not far - or boat or bus there.

BCV and BWV you can walk or boat to Epcot/Studios - which is great for the food and wine festavial Oct and Nov. this is also a nice place for the flower and garden festavial in May.

I decide what park I am going to the most - then I stay at a DVC resort close to it - but only if I am staying in a studio - so if I bring guest then it is OKW.

So if the main part of WDW park is going to be the MK / Epcot - then VWL.

if the main part is Epcot / MK or Epcot /studios then BCV or BWV.

if the AK or DD/PI then OKW.

I would go with what you like - if action then BWV is in the middle of it. BCV is far enough away that you can get to the action easily but it is not in your face. OKW if you want someplace that is in the middle of WDW but feels like it is a thousand miles away. VWL if you love WL then you will definitely love VWL. It is so beautiful - you can sometimes see deer from your balcony there.
It is also the only DVC resorts that is also a MK resort - so you can see the Electric Water Pagen each night from its beach.

they are have some great things to love about each and every one.

if you want to go the first two weeks of December and stay at VWL or BCV - then I would buy there - this is probably one of the most popular times for DVC's. the crowds are small, the points requirement is low, all of WDW is decorated, and the place is beautiful.....but Epcot and the mK have special programing going.

I am a 30 year old single dad and just became a member. I have yet to stay at one of the resorts but I cant wait to do so..

Why do I feel like I was starting to place an online personal ad?

:D

Well,Michael, you never know;). If you did meet someone on these boards, you'd know you had at least one important characteristic in common...a love of Disney!!!!

DH and I are obviously not single, but we don't have children, so we're semi-unattached in that way, and do more of an adult-oriented vacation at WDW, rather than a child-centered vacation.

We are owners at OKW. It and BWV were the only 2 available when we bought in 1997. We basically bought it because we liked the "feel" of the resort, and it was a little less expensive overall than BWV.

OKW is nice because the rooms are big. The studio has 2 beds, as opposed ot the studios in the others that have 1 bed and a pull out.If you're going to be in the room by yourself, I think I'd like the bed/couch arrnagement better. Makes it seem less like a hotel room. OKW is laid back, beachy feeling, nice to walk around.

The BWV and BCV are basically in the same vicinity. The BCV are a tad bit more set back from the main drag, but both offer the perk of being within walking/boating distance to 2 major parks, walking distance to the Fantasia Gardens mini golf(across from the Swan/Dolphin), and of course, all the stuff on the Boardwalk. DH and I actually prefer the Boardwalk nightlife over PI. PI gets a little "intense" for us sometimes(I am 41 and he is 45). We find the Boardwalk a little more low key, you can do as much or as little as you want in terms of entertainment. We enjoy Jellyrolls, but get there early. We also enjoy a sundae at Beaches and Cream in the Beach Club. The wings at ESPN cannot be beat, and of course, stopping at the bakery is always a treat! I like to poke through the couple of little shops that are there, and will also often go into the BW,YC, and BC and look in their gift shops also. All 3 hotels have nice cozy little bars too, in addition to what's right on the Boardwalk.

The VWL have the perk of being close to the MK. I like the little boat that takes you there, I love to watch the geyser erupt, and I love the EWP at night!!!!!! VWL is very serene and relaxing.

SSR sounds like it might be a pretty good spot for singles, as it appears that it will have quick access to DD, where it is all "happenin' ".

Just remember that when you buy into the DVC, you'll have it for a long time and may not be single forever!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your input:)
My sister and I visited the Boardwalk area last summer, but did not get there during the evening hours. I would like to do that the next time we visit WDW and try Jelly Rolls. We did try Beaches and Cream and we enjoyed it. Have to go back next summer for the "kitchen sink". my 14 year old niece insists on that!
I just feel like there is so much to see and do while at WDW that it can't all be done in one visit alone. I hope we will be able to start going at least once a year and stay at some of the DVC resorts even though we are not members yet.
Just a short note to Merilyn that thread I mentioned was about the year people had bought into DVC not age:o I just hope someday I can be lucky enough to be a member too.

I am single and in my early 30s. I recently purchased at BCV but have not stayed there as of yet. I have stayed at BWV. I personally like the BCV and BWV area the best because of convenience but am looking forward to trying out OKW and VWL also.
