Another double stroller question...

I have a double jogger, but I'm looking for something a little more compact when folding and lighter weight. I am tall (5'10") and my boys are two and four. They are pretty big...28 and 38 pounds.

I know a lot of you are Maclaren lovers, but they are just too expensive for me.

Any recommendations?

The sit & stand worked really well for our 2 and 4 year old. Only $150.00 at Toys R Us and in the One Step Ahead catolog (also online). The little one sits in front with a tray and sun cover. Older one stands or sits in back (has a belt if you need it). There is a large basket under the seats. There are no cup holders but we bought a clip on and some bags hooks. Very easy to store in trunk. Light to get in and out. Great around Disney. The manufacture that I have is called Cabboose. I am actually getting ready to sell mine because my kids just have about out grown ours. But we loved it for a while.

We had a Sit N'Stand several years back and it was WONDERFUL with our girls. Yes, we had to take it from the hotel, but we just popped it open when we got off a bus/out of a car and rolled the kids everywhere - much better than making them walk/carrying them into every park. Plus, on busy days we didn't have to wait for rental line, we could always pick ours out of a crowd and we had it for around the pool or Downtown Disney. The airline let us carry it on (they put it at the front of the plane - but this was pre-security tightening), so we had it for the airport, too. I found the front to pack model so much more convenient than the double-wide. :)

How much do you want to spend? You can find good deals on Mac doubles at albeebaby.com. That's where I bought mine. You can find the prior year models on sale. Our is the Ralley Twin and you can find it for $200.

the sit and stand mentioned is the Joovy Cabboose...

we have the Peg double and it is so super light weight. 14 pounds i believe. it takes some practice to get the UNfolding down pat, but other than that, my kids really seem to like it. they like being able to see and touch eachother. (they are 3 and 20 months, btw)

we also had an inline double but it was far too heavy and cumbersome to even consider bringing it travelling with us.

the peg aria double is not cheap though, but so far it's been worth it for us.

I ended up finding a Maclaren on craigslist for 150...last years model. It looks brand new! Thanks for the advice!

I bought the Joovy caboose for our Disney Trip last year. My very muscle heavy (she's a gymanst) 5 year old rode on the jump seat the entire trip. Best stroller I ever bought. And with three kids I have been through 9 strollers. The stroller is very heavy but that only aids in the turning, no tipping. It does fold up really easy. We bought the rain cover and it keep the stroller and the kids dry. My DH who thought we did not need another stroller for the trip was praising my choice after day one at the world. We also bought some skip hop sadle bags the attached very nicey to the sides.
Great place for our autograph books.
