I hooked mine-up, the evening it arrived -- as a current owner of two Sony Blu-ray players, I had certain expectations of this player (which were met -- and exceeded!).
As for looks, it's very slim -- about the same size of many DVD players.
Also, remember, this player also does streaming of lots of different internet-based video services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Video on Demand. If you plan to take advantage of those, make sure you register at their websites (and also to register your Blu-ray player with Sony).
If you plan on hooking it up to your HDTV, make sure you do two things to get the very best picture for your Blu-ray movies:
Enjoy!
- Get an HDMI cable -- normally, I buy mine at Monoprice.com , which, combined with 2-day shipping ($11.85), will still be less expensive than the one on sale at Target, this week for $19.99. If you are also in need of network cables, you can get them from Monoprice, as well!
- Make use of the HDTV picture calibration software (Disney provides this for free in all of their Pixar Blu-ray movie sets)
Many thanks!!!! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear!!!! I kno my dad will love it! Its much smaller than the one I bought my husband in april! I love it! Im glad to hear the picture looks good!!!! Enjoy!
