Another Disney Vacation Account question

I have been reading that if we use a travel agent to plan our next trip, then I can't use my DVA to pay for it. I am confused. I didn't use an agent for our first trip,and in thinking ahead to our next, I might. But why can't I pay with my DVA if I use an agent? Does the entire amount of $ go thru the travel agent instead of paying via MDE (and DVA as a result)? Confuzzled...

How do I use my Disney Vacation Account to make a payment for my vacation?

To make a payment for your vacation with your Disney Vacation Account, you will first need to retrieve your Disney Vacation Account number. Once you have your Disney Vacation Account number, there are 2 ways to make a payment for your vacation:

Online through the official Disney website for your selected Disney vacation destination. Please provide your Disney Vacation Account number on the payment page. Select the Disney Gift Card payment type and enter your 16-digit Disney Vacation Account number. Please note that Adventures By Disney vacations cannot be paid for online.
By calling the Disney Reservations Call Center at (407) 939-7734. You will need to provide your Disney Vacation Account number to the agent

When the DVA started people could, or thought they could, use a TA. But the above tells us you can't, as payments need to be made directly.

As a travel agent, I've yet to encounter any of my clients wanting to use a DVA to pay for their reservation, so this is just speculation... However, I don't see any reason I couldn't do it. I use their Disney Gift Cards that they hand me all the time. As long as the client could give me their DVA account number for me to provide over the phone to Disney reservations agent for payment, I can't imagine why there would be a problem.

I requested a partial refund from my DVA (not paying) however they wanted every piece of information entered when I created the account verified.

*spelling first and last name and email address
*phone#
*address
*I think at least one of the security questions had to be answered.

The didn't have access to any totals in the account or how much of each payment method was used. The CM on the phone basically filled out a form and passed it along. Perhaps the TA can't make reservations because of all the. Security measures in place.
