Another Disney day...or what?

Here's our plan for our upcoming DL trip...

We have one day unplanned. Should I add another Disney day or a second day in Hollywood, Universal, or Knott's? We have a lot of time at DL/DCA, but it wouldn't cost us any extra in tickets since we have APs. We won't be staying at a cool hotel yet, so I don't want it to be just a rest day. We don't want to do the zoo or Legoland.

Assess the rest of my plan while you're at it. We like to stay very busy. We do theme parks early and then take afternoon breaks and usually just return and eat a nice dinner and see nighttime shows if we desire. During the Disney portion of our trip, we'll do some pool time if it's warm enough and some dinners at DTD.

Sat Arrive
Sun Oct 14th Explore Hollywood (El Capitan Theater and Soda Fountain)
Mon Universal
Tue Knott's Berry Farm
Wed UNPLANNED
Thu Check into VGC, DL or DCA
Fri DL or DCA
Sat DL or DCA
Sun DL or DCA
Mon DL or DCA
Tue DL or DCA, Mickey's Halloween Party
Wed Check out of VGC (spend day at DL or DCA before going to conference in Newport Beach)

Thanks for the help! :goodvibes

I'm guessing if you don't want to do the zoo that Sea World is also out? Your kids are a good age for Legoland, maybe reconsider? The zoo is cheaper though, so if you reconsider anything, maybe that one lol - plus October free at the zoo for kids under 11.

What your kids are NOT a good age for is Universal and Knott's, so I would definitely not do a second day at one of those places, and I'm not a fan of Hollywood, especially for youngsters.

What about a casual visit to the beach? Probably too cold to swim, but at least walking around and seeing it... maybe Santa Monica pier?

If none of that sounds appealing, I'd of course say add another Disney day, but if you already have a 5-day hopper, there have been conflicting reports that you can no longer easily add an extra day. It's about a 50/50 success rate based on recent reports.

Thanks, Sonnyjane. We'll consider the zoo. It's just that my kids have travelled A LOT. They've been to zoos all over the country. Perhaps we should add one more. I'll ask them. They're really experts at amusement parks too.

We have APs to DL. Looks like Universal has second day free offer and second day at KBF isn't too much more. I'm not convinced we need a second day at either of those parks either...definately not Universal.

DH is looking at what there is to do in and around LA today. He's pretty sure we are going to want to stay in LA and spend 4 or 5 days there. He's looking at the GO LA card. He thinks the kids will like some kind of tour and the wax museum. We'll see. BTW, he will have to entertain the kids for a few days at the end of our trip (after Disney) while I attend a conference in Newport Beach. So they will see the beach and he'll need more things to do with the kids. Looks like maybe museums and maybe the zoo will be a good idea then.

Any other suggestions are totally welcome!
