We just returned from 3 nights in a one bedroom at HH. All I can say is"WOW" This is my home resort, and our first trip there. The resort is so beautiful, secluded yet so close to restaurants and shops. The one bedroom is absolutely incredible--it is huge. Our room was in excellent shape (the only flaws: Sticking shower door; drain on tub acted up). We didn't participate in too many activities. We got to play several games of pool and ping pong. The weather was great for swimming and playing on the beach. I felt the traffic was a little heavy--but it was Easter and the PGA golf tournament was in town. We ate at San Miguels--very close to the resort. I felt the service could have been better: our waitress sneered when we asked about a DVC discount, there were no clean glasses for our drinks for about 10 minutes, the waitress who brought DD's food yelled at us when we asked for ketchup. The food was good, but I don't plan to go back there. On the other hand, Truffles was a terrific experience: delicious food, great service, and a good value for the money. We also ate at Iron Wolf Restaurant--excellent service, great food, but a bit pricey. I wish I had remembered to pack bug spray, and make bike arrangements before we got there. Otherwise, it was a terrific trip. DH was so impressed, he isn't opposed to me buying more points;)

Thanks for the report. Glad you're first visit "home" was successful.

Have fun adding those extra points! ;)

I'm just curious-what 1 BR did you get? And was it in the main lodge or not? What kind of view? We had a 1 BR on the third floor of the main lodge, not our requested marsh view, but DH loved it. We did both prefer being in the Main Lodge-one night we were in another building and the porches weren't private at all. I'm not familiar with the resturaunts you mentioned. Where's Truffles? And I didn't know you could make bike arrangements before you get there. Isn't the one bedroom beautiful? And those rocking chairs on the porch are a perfect touch-I wish all the resorts had them!

we were in Building 16, first floor, lock-out unit. The view was of other buildings, but was gorgeous. Our porch wasn't completely private, we could see onto the other 2 porches, but was still very nice. I was amazed at the size of the 1 bedrooms--so huge. Truffles has 2 locations: one in Bluffton, just past the outlet stores, and one on the island. We ate at Bluffton. There were no bikes available for rent unless you wanted the small children's bikes. Next time, I think I'll just rent from one of the other bike companies in advance so that I know we will have bikes. By the way, we tried Tommy's scavenger hunt and either couldn't find the treasure, or we were looking in the wrong place.

What a wonderful purchase to look forward to. It would be hard not to be impressed with HH. Our family loves it there.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom which was not in the lodge last summer. It was located at the far end of the resort, by the circle parking lot. We were on the first floor. If I have understood it correctly from reports Doc has done, 1 bedroom are all located on the first floor -- underneath the grand villas. The view was of the walk to the pool -- worked great for us because I was able to watch DS ride his bike down there without him actually knowing that's what I was doing. We'll see where the luck of the draw lands us this year -- have a 1 bedroom booked, hoping the waitlist will come through for a 2 bedroom for our timeframe.

Glad you had a nice trip.:D

We purchased a bike rack on sale for $40 dollars a few years ago and now just bring our bikes along --
