Another disappointing story about checking ADR's

I called today to check our ADR confirmations, not expecting there to be any problems. Turns out my ADR for 'Ohanas dinner was cancelled when it was suppossed to have been the breakfast ressie for a different day instead. The breakfast one is still there but the dinner is gone. Grrr. No availability for dinner now. I'm so frustrated but I'm still crossing my fingers that the dining supervisor I spoke with can pull some magic out of her hat for me. Please send me all your pixie dust wishes as this dinner was the only request my dh has made for our entire 10 day vacation!

We've got Kona booked for another night. I thought maybe the nights could be switched if there were openings at each restaurant on the differing nights but it couldn't be done. I'm really hoping 'Ohana will still work out. Anyone else ever had a CM cancel your ADR wrongfully and how did it play out for you?

I'm crossing my fingers for you!! I'd feel frustrated too if I'd gone to trouble to make our ADRs well in advance and someone had cancelled them by mistake!! GOOD LUCK!

I'm afraid to call and check on ours :guilty:. This is our third trip and I've never been able to do it! I'm really sorry that you had this mix up and hope that you are able to still dine at Ohana's. Ohana's and Crystal Palace are our favorites and I'd be crushed if we couldn't eat at those resturants. Actually I had a Ohanas breakfast that I canceled and I've got I dinner too..I think I better call sooner rather than later..

THis happened to me too!!! I had two Lecellier dinner ressies (one I gave to Disneyglobegirl) since I only needed one!!! Several weeks ago, I called just to confirm my ressies and NO Lecellier!!! I had the confirmation # and they told me I had cancelled it. I NEVER did.
Don't give up..I called several times a day and picked up a Lecellier dinner ressie. Not sure If I will be able to use it now since my flights have been changed. Sending pixie dust your way :wizard:

I had trouble just making my reservations while we were down there a few weeks ago - not having trouble with availability - but having trouble getting them to understand what day.

I repeatedly told the person on the phone "today". When he repeated the confirmation for me, he confidently told me I was all set for Saturday (it was Thursday). I repeated, "I'm sorry - but I need them for TODAY". Which his response was "OK - you're all set for Friday" Ah-hem! Today is THURSDAY!

Sounds like Disney may be having trouble handling all the add'l calls due to DDP?

We wanted to go to Ohana's for a second time during our Aug. trip. We couldn't get same day reservations so we did a walk in. We had to wait over an hour but they did take us..if you are up to it I would say go for it! We just relaxed and went in the gift shops :sunny:

Just some tips for the ADR situation.

Always use the actual date when talking to them. Even if it is the same day. I would like to make an ADR etc for today, Sept. 20th.

Try not to make multiple changes, the more they mess with them, the more likely you are to have problems.

After you do make a change. Have them read off "all" of your bookings, not just the one you changed.

I use the above plan and have never had one cancelled or any problems.

By any chance were your two LeCellier reservations on the same day, or possibly did you have another ADR near the same time? If so that is why your LeCellier was cancelled.

I had a strange experience amending an ADR a few days ago. I had a Sci Fri res. for our family of 5 but I recently decided that I'd take our 2 year old to the Jo Jo character meal at H&V that day while DH takes the boys to Sci Fi - so I was on to Disney Dining making new ADRs and I made the H&V one for 12.10 (same time as the Sci Fi one) - then I told her I'd like to amend the Sci Fi one to change it from 5 people to 3 people (to open up space for others). She said they can't alter a ressie so I'd have to make a new ADR. I asked if that would be a problem and she said 'no'. I suggested perhaps it was safest to keep the ressie and I'd call the restaurant while we're in WDW and tell them it's changed to 3. She said no, that won't work. So I gave her the ressie number, she cancelled it and then said "oh we have no availability for party of 3". Huh? Didn't I just cancel a party of 5 one? She insisted no availability was showing up so she gave me a ressie for one hour later for DH and the boys. The part that irritated me really was that she was totally blasé about it and couldn't see the problem and then said "Sci Fi is *very very* popular". Um, yes I know that's why I made that ADR 4 months ago! What I'm going to do is call back at some point and change the H&V one to an hour later too. Anyway, it's no biggie and to be fair she was very friendly and I liked her (for the most part, lol) but it was odd I thought.

OP, I really hope your ADR works out - it's very frustrating when you've been organised enough to make those ADRs early. Good luck!!!

No, they were for two different days :sad2:

one day, a few weeks ago when i wanted to confirm all of my ADR's the CM told me there was no need to everything should be fine. So I said ok and ended the call, Do you think I should double check them all? There is 12 + of them

Update: I'm the OP. After speaking with the supervisor on the phone today she said she could get in touch with 'Ohanas manager to see if he/she would override the dining ressies to put us back on since the ressie was cancelled by mistake on the part of the dining people. She said it can take up to a couple days to hear back and it's totally up to the restaurant manager's discresion. A few hours later the supervisor called me back to say that the ADR had been added back in its original form (time, place, date) per the manager. Whew! Thank you for all the pixie dust you all sent my way! Dh would've been livid if 'Ohanas fell through by no fault of our own.

To the poster who asked, YES, call and confirm every last little one of your ADR's! I never thought we'd encounter a problem, but we did. I can only imagine the frustration we would've felt had we not confirmed, shown up at the restaurant, and then had to sort out the situation at the podium.

An ounce of prevention....you know the rest! ;)

I changed an ADR when my ds learned he could join us for dinner. The CM explained that I would need a new ADR because I was going to a larger table. We made the new ADR before I canceled the original one. The time was different than the original, but was fine for us.

I have needed to make a few changes to the ADR's that I have for our upcoming trip, and asked the CM to confirm all of them before I end the call.

I have only had one problem with an adr. I always booked HDDR a year in advance. I never change them once made. I checked all my adr's before we left. When we arrive at the resort we went immediatly to pu our DDDR tickets at the desk at the resort. They said they had been cancelled. It was set for my birthday. They called someone and said everything was set and we would have good seats because of making them so early. Got there and they wanted to put us upstairs. My FIL was in a wheelchair and couldn't climb steps. After demanding out money back, they squeezed a table in on the main floor. After all the fuss, it kinda took the fun out of the evening. Sorry, just had a flashback! :sad2:
