Hello my friend and her family will be at WDW along with me and my family next summer - totally separate bookings. We both have free DDP, we would love to have a meal together, there will be 7 of us plus an infant. If I booked the table for us as one reservation, would we be able to pay as 2 families using the 2 separate lots of credits. Obviously we don't want to spend each other's credits on a meal.
Thanks

u can do this but u will still get the 18% tip as u are a party of more then 6

say one nasty woman on friday arguing to get out of the mandantory tip

just tell the server that you'll need split checks and explain the issue.

I'm going to elaborate on this and suggest that you also tell the server (who will probably ask anyway) which guests are in which room so that he/she can group the meals together correctly for the separate bills :thumbsup2

You could book to meals and use one lot on one night then the others another night of there is any problems

That won't work because the KTTW cards say how many guests are on the DDP for that room and the CM's aren't allowed to redeem more meals than guests on the plan in one transaction. It's easy to split and they do it all the time. Just let them know you are paying separately. :)

Its not supposed to be allowed but not sure how strict they are. I collected 13 tickets (12 adults 1 child) for Hoop Dee Doo they took 14 credits off my room even though there were only 3 adults in our room. when I realised they gave me the credits back but it was a nightmare as we didn't have a child in the room, the system couldn't handle it. Eventually sorted and I got $50 for the inconvenience but I asked how it could be done, it shouldn't be possible. He said as long as we use the credits they don't care how we use them.:confused3

It is easy to split but we got varying degrees of success, we were 2 parties of 3 this year, at least half of the servers could not split the check properly, sometimes all the alcohol went on one, starter on wrong check, etc etc. As we were with close relatives it didn't matter to us being wrong by $20,$30 or $40 over the 18 nights but to others it might. The servers either don't listen or in too much of a rush to be bothered splitting the checks correctly. At least the credits all worked correctly this year.
