Ok I am ready to be slammed by this but here goes. I have a 7 yr, 4 yr, and 2 1/2 yr old. I know that my youngest can eat free at the buffets, however we also have some TS restaurants planned that aren't buffet style and I really don't want to share a plate with my daughter and she really likes eating her OWN food. I was planning on what some people call as scamming the system by paying out of pocket for some of the children's buffet meals so that I can actually order my youngest daughter meals at the other restaurants with the extra credits. But now I am wondering if my plan is going to work because of all the talk about them separating child/adult credits and then also putting them on different cards. I have probably read all the posts on here but I am looking for opinions of people that have been there recently. Because I need to do some major rearranging if it's not going to work!

Thanks

Well, finanically that doesn't seem to make sense to me. Your youngest will eat free at buffets. It's only "menu" meals you would have to buy your daughter her own meal. Many of those serve such huge portions that two adults can split a meal easily that you may be fine getting a seperate plate for your DD (often they will split the meal in the kitchen for you). Even if you don't want to go that route, children's meals at TS restaurants generally cost less then a child's buffet, so paying $10.99 out of pocket at a buffet so you can use a credit to get a $6.99 meal at a TS restaurant doesn't make much sense.

I don't know the specifics, but I don't think what you are proposing would be against the rules -- you wouldn't be trying to use a child's credit for an adult meal, just a child's credit for a different child's meal. It may be disallowed if they wouldn't let you use 3 children's credits for only 2 children above the age 3 (and one younger), but I don't think this is inherantly taking advantage of the system.

I *do* think that your plan will cost you more money though than just buying the child's meal at the TS restaurants when you need it.

I agree completely with bellarella.
And it seems like you would make meals complex for yourself by paying for some meals to use child credits for another meal, that may be less expensive, or comparable. :confused3

I am in the same situation. I emailed disney, and they replied that I would be able to use one card for another person on the dining plan. That the credits are still pooled.

If you want me to forward the message I got for disney, PM me.
Based upon my email from disney, I dont think this will be a problem.

P.S. You are not really scamming. I see this as no part of scamming. Getting the most for you money, yes.. scamming no. You are asking to use a credit for a child that is a child credit.

Also, before you do this you may want to check on all ears menu pages. Most children menus are pretty cheap. I think most buffets are more expensive. But you should do what works best for you.

Thanks everyone! 3 weeks to go and I am sweating it. When I say other TS meals I am talking like Coral Reef where I think the children's menus are more expensive plus if I want to get her dessert and drinks it adds up so if I used a credit I thought it would help defray cost. Okay and yes I have a greedy little girl there is no way she is going to share with anyone and also I don't want to risk the restaurant screwing up our credits if we share and then taking an extra child credit away for her when she is only 2. All our meals are sit down dinners, and all breakfast is buffet and we are also doing Hoop De doo and Spirit. We have 10 days of dining, I don't see how we are going to use all the CS meals either.....snacks that is another story...haha

The other thing you could do for the TS such as Coral Reef, is order an appetizer as part of an adult meal, and give it to your DD2 as her meal. She will get "her own" meal, and you paid nothing OOP. There is so much food, that I don't think you have to worry about not having enough.

I agree with others....with most TS meals, a kids meal is $5 or so.......it will be better just to pay for those OOP, instead of manipulating credits around.
