Another diniing plan question

If you book a package, and you add on the dining plan, do you have to pay for the dining plan for ALL memebers of your party?

I believe that all members in your party have to be on it (all people in your room). So since I am on it for our next trip, my DH and 2 kids are on it (and have to be) but my parents are coming for a couple nights when we are there and they are not on the plan - they are staying in the own room of course! (LOL - can you imagine?!)
