Could someone please explain how to do the tipping with a large group? We have the DDP(going in Sept.-hoping for free) with a party of 7 adults & 3 kids.one kid free (under age 3). I know 18% will be automatically added to our bill. The adults will be sharing the tip-3 couples and one adult who is single. Can we divide the tip an each persons/families room card to avoid carrying cash? Also what happens if someone does not show up for the dinner ressie...becuse we will be split up sometimes. Will it mess up the ressie for the rest of us? Thanks for any help.

Yes, that's no problem. Unless you're all staying in the same room (:scared1: ), the server will be doing separate checks anyway, because the DDP credits are accounted for by room.

Nothing happens. That occurs all the time. You just tell them that someone didn't show up and how many you have left in your party. Same thing if you have one or two more than you expected. They'll work it out. The only difficulty would be if you ended up with more than ten in your party. Many restaurants don't have seating for groups larger than ten.

If your change in party size brings you below six people, you will not automatically find the 18% gratuity added. It will be up to you how much to tip in that situation.

Incidentally, the <3 child counts for six in the party triggering the automatic gratuity, even though you're not paying for the child. I know, it makes no sense -- it's just a rule.

ONE SUGGESTION: If you're going in September, you'd better get on the phone at your earliest opportunity and make ADRs. The restaurants are going to be swamped, and with a party of ten, you're a pretty tough group to accommodate. You'll want to call as early as you can to have the best chance of getting what you want.

thanks JimMIA, for your remarks. You've relieved my mind considerably, as I really don't like to carry too much cash. Thanks also for the advice on making my ADR's. My 180 mark is next Sunday...so I'll be on the phone right @ 7:00
a.m. ! I'm relieved, too that if someone doesn't show our ressie will be fine. Thanks!
