What is the food at the Character breakfast ?
Table / Buffet service? How much you can eat?
Thanks

it's buffet.. eat as much as you want.. wait as soon as I clicked this.. I thought maybe we did order from a menu?? Most breakfasts are buffet... i'll check and get back. So take that as a Maybe..:teeth:

it is sit down with "your" servers. You can order what you like and it is limitless like all meals. Get the Mickey waffles...

The character breakfast was the most rushed meal we had all week, I didn't enjoy it at all. You're given a menu and it's strongly suggested (and apprecitated) by the servers that you stick to the menu. My son ate Mickey waffles every day during the cruise and wanted just Mickey waffles for the character breakfast, both kids wound up just getting the kids platter (waffle, eggs, bacon) and my one son only ate his waffle. There are also muffins, croissants (I know that's spelled wrong!) and danish that are brought around. My DH and I also ordered off the menu (eggs, bacon, pancakes, I think) and two orders of fresh fruit for the table.

The kids get a kick out of the characters but it's definitely a crazy morning!!!

I agree it does seemed rushed. Which can be a bit weird if you are expecting a typical breakfast atmosphere. I think you spend more time posing for pictures than actually eating your breakfast.

But don't get the impression that you get to spend more than 12 seconds with a character. They come, now everyone hurry up and smile so we can get to then next table, oh yea-come to shutters and buy the picture, bye! 12 seconds flat. You spend the rest of the time looking to see who's coming to your table next, jumping up to get the pose for the shot and boom baby, that character is gone too. Now get back to your chair and start to eat and repeat the above process.

hehehehe jrabbit - so true :hyper:

Bingo! Next time we skip the character breakfast!

it is held in parrot cay

it was a fun breakfast i hit a 10 year old in the face with a napkin

It is off a menu and very rushed. We had no other character interaction except the photographer getting a quick shot and that was it--barely got them to stand still long enough for a picture with our camera-found it a big disappointment compared to those at WDW

It seems that the breakfast is for the photographers. They don't seem to want you to have a chance to get the photo because they want to sell you one and also they are in a hurry to get to all of the tables. So if you expect it to be this way and can snap a few photos here and there you will enjoy the character breakfast. My kids actually had alot of fun and I was able to get some fun photos with my own camera.

The food itself is uninspired. It is the very typical (read boring) breakfast fare. I didn't feel rushed to eat at all though.

Actually, we enjoyed the character breakfast. Every single character (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale) came by our table and we got pictures with all of them. In fact, some of the best pictures of the cruise! Yes, there are the professional photographers also, but after they take your picture, the characters let us take one with our camera.

All the characters are dressed in tropical shirts and it was very colorful.

The food is okay, but filling. We may not do it next time only because we are burned out on character meals (between WDW every year and the cruise). But I'm glad we did it.

When my DBF and I went to the character breakfast we were seated with just one other couple from our table so we switched cameras so that when a character came over to pose with one couple the other couple could take a quick photo or two while the photographer snapped away, it seemed to work out very well. Plus we didn't have to buy any of the photos from Shutters. I didn't find the meal to incredibly rushed, but it was definitly alot different from those at WDW. My only complaint was that chip/ dale/pluto kept hugging me and patting my shoulders which really didn't feel very good on my severe sun burn :(. So I have a rather...pained expression in several of the photos.

I'm looking forward to the character breakfast with my kids.

Do they do anything special like the napkin waving at Chef Mickey's?

I spoke with Debbie to book our REAS today. When I asked about our dining rotation she said it was a group reservation and the group would be together. Do the general rules (kids on APL) not really apply when booked with allseas?

Thanks!

OOPS! (meant to start a new thread on that post) ... sorry ...

The characters dance around some and there is some napkin waving.
