Another car vs. WDW transportation thread

I'm going next week, staying at the Poly. The only things I'm doing that are not on the monorail is CDS at 9pm show one night, 8pm dinner at AKL another night. I'm not worried much about getting to AKL, but I'm starting to stress over going back and forth to DD, especially when the CDS show is so late.

Please tell me realistically about the transportation options between Poly and DD. What time could I reasonably expect to get back to the resort after CDS ends? If it's going to take over an hour, I might consider getting a car instead.

No matter what resort you'll be at, transportation to, and from, DTD is apt to be slow. It always is. You will have no problem getting a bus at that time of night...they run until at least 1 a.m. But they can take awhile. I'm not sure I would rent a car just for that though. I would say an hour tops to get back to the Polynesian. Most likely a bit less.
