If we are wanting to see the last show of the night (8:15) on Wed. December 12, do you think we will need to reserve the dinner package?

or do you think we will be able to get seats as long as we show up early?

The question is do you want to take the chance and not get a seat?
We have always did the last one of the night and always found it booked. So it would really be up to you. I know you can stand outside and hear it but I don't know how well you can see it.

When did you go? Was it closer to Christmas or the same week?

We are going on the 15th. We decided to go with the package since we were planning to do TS anyway that night.

Being that close to Christmas and one of the busier weeks of the year...I would definately make the reservation. The CP is one of the most beautiful Christmas events on property and IMO I would rather make the reservation than take the chance and miss the show. You are going to love it!

We always went after Christmas. Granted it is busy then, but my Aunt has gone all different times from Thanskgiving up to the last show. She has even gone the same week as you are planning. She told me there was never a time where it wasn't packed. It is a Beautiful show and I make sure I always see it when I am there at that time. I can't imagine a day where it doesn't sell out.
My brother once tried standing outside of it to listen to it but he said it wasn't interesting that way. So they left. I would think if you get there really, really early you can make at least one of the shows. I think walk ups sit in the back rows so there might not be many seats saved for it.
Hopefully someone can help you out with this.
