...or have I been away too long? I just checked availability for our cruise and saw this: From March to September peak seasonal pricing applies: $643.93.

That happened a number of months ago, maybe a year now. They know they can get the price

Well, in the grand scheme of things it's really not a huge deal more, but DH never saw the value in it before (he likes to be busy and didn't use the cabana much). So I know it would be an even harder sell and it's not worth hearing him gripe:crazy2:

That's the after tax cost if I recall. Something like $595 + tax I think. Been that for a while.

They increase the price during peak season because of demand. :)

I so considered trying to get one for us but once I saw how much they were that went right out the window. We would have to get one of the big family ones, and still add an extra person best I could tell just from googling (11 people, 8 adults and 3 kids). It would have been over $1000 for one day. I'm shocked people pay that, honestly, with how much this cruise costs anyway. I get DCL will charge whatever people will pay because they can, but omg people what do you do for a living to afford that and where do I sign up for it?

Have you seen how much a Polynesian bungalow (as WDW) costs? There are people who can afford and actually pay out of pocket for that! I guess you do get more use out of a bungalow than a cabana.

Just did. Holy what the ... They are lovely but just no. Nope. Not a chance.

I don't know how these people do it but man it must be nice to be able to.

Im in the minority but I 100% agree with DH here. The cabanas (imo) are totally overrated. If I want seclusion on a beach vacation then I will take a secluded beach vacation, spend way less money, get a better cabana at a better location with better service and better amenities. Its not that difficult to find all inclusives for $350/night (double occupancy) throughout the caribbean or domincan republic, etc.

The one time we did it my FIL pais for it and i felt terrible when I heard how much it cost.

They are definitely a splurge, but we love to get one whenever we can.
If you break down the cost among 11 people, its about $100 per person which isn't too horrible for 8 hours. Most excursions are close to that through Disney. Seeing that $1000 charge is scary though, after the initial cost of the cruise :scared1:

With many people report having trouble reserving one on their 1st available booking date, I don't see why DCL won't want to raise the price.

LAX
I agree. It appears demand exceeds supply. So they will either construct additional cabanas or raise the prices, or both.

I beginning to think that some people have a lot more money than I do. :)
