Another BWV in October Availability Question

Ok, this is really making me nervous and I know I just need to chill out a bit

We currently have a studio booked at our home resort, BLT, for October 3-9. DH and I are planning on running the Tower of Terror 10 Miler and are celebrating our anniversary on the 4th! I had hoped to get a studio, any studio (standard view or boardwalk it doesn't matter) at BWV for those dates so we are closer to Hollywood Studios where the race finishes, and its more likely than BLT to be a host resort for the race so we don't have to travel all over Disney World for race transportation.

Well, my sister and a friend want to go too. So now we would be looking at trying to book 2 studios at BWV at the 7 month window. For dates that include what is either the first or second weekend of the Food and Wine festival. We could try for a standard view 2 bedroom instead of studios, but we would be short on points for that and would probably buy one time use points if it came to that.

So what are our chances for getting 2 studios (of any view) at BWV a the 7 month window, or a 2 bedroom?

Chances are likely low to get even one studio or a 2BR at BWV for the time you want at 7 months out absent wait list. The period you want (a Friday to Thursday) was October 4 to 10 in 2013. On March 4, 2013, exactly 7 months out, the BWV standard and boardwalk view studios and 2BRs were gone for that period except for Oct 8, and the pool/garden view studios and 2BRs were gone for Oct 4, 5, 6 and 7. Also note BCV studios and 2BRs were gone except for Oct 8 and 9. The only thing at either of those resorts that was open for the entire 6 night period was a 1BR pool/garden view at BWV; otherwise even the 1BRs at both resorts were booked for three of the nights in the six night period.

Standard Views at BWV Studio and 2 Bedrooms are all ready gone, Boardwalk View are only left with a few days. Pool/Garden views are not, so you might be able to find a room at the 7 month window with a Pool/Garden View. Back in 2012 we were able to book 4 nights in a 2 bedroom at BCV right at the 7 month window during Food & Wine.

Or you might want to rent points from a DVC member with BWV Home Resort and just rent out your current BLT reservation to guarantee you will have BWV for the time needed.

We waitlisted one night (race night) at BWV in a preferred studio and BCV in a studio at seven months out (same reason as you). We did get the BWV studio a few days later, but the BCV never came through. If we had wanted more than the one night, I'm not sure we would have gotten it. And two studios would be even more difficult.

You could book the Swan or Dolphin for the one night and then go back to BLT for the rest of your stay. We were thinking about that when we got our one night by waitlisting.

Thanks for your replies! I knew trying for one studio would be difficult but with two in the mix now we're going to basically cross our fingers and hope for the best. Standard view studios at BLT are of course all booked at this point too so we just need to until the 7 month window opens up to see what our options are. I just hope runDisney releases the host resorts for this race before the 7 month window

I do like the idea of a room at the Swan or Dolphin for race night at least. We might be able to swing something like that.

I was tossing around the idea of splitting our stay between AKV and BWV but we would need a standard 2BR. We're going the third week of October (19-24) but I am only looking for 2 nights. What are the chances that we might find availability at 7 months? We would be using OTU points so a waitlist would not be possible.

Standard view rooms during f&w are unlikely at 7mos. They are booked by owners @ 11 mos
