To everyone that recommended Boma, thank you!

Because of the very high praise that Boma was receiving, I booked PS for early in our trip (second day).

WOW. DH and I loved it! Fabulous food, I requested recipes for many things, and when DH found out that they change foods daily, he wanted me to book PS's for Saturday as well. Which was another wonderful day.

Zebra Domes: To die for. I asked for the recipe, and I plan to make them for friends.

We have PSs for BOMA as well, and are really looking forward to it. Now that we know the menu changes daily, I'm contemplating multiple days as well...

They told us when we ate there (numerous times for bfast, once for dinner) that the DINNER menu changes on a 3 day rotation.

The bfast menu was the same everyday as far as I could tell.

I have not been there in about 3 years, but I think I may take the family in Dec. I know DH and I will love it, but is there also the standard kid food there?

DH and I have had breakfast here a few times and will be trying dinner in December. He's really looking forward to it, I'm a little more apprehensive (with food allergies, I always am). Hopefully I will have a great chef to help me out.

Yes, there is the normal mac & cheese and chicken strips for kids. Maybe more, but I wasn't paying attention to that area of the buffet.

I am going to have to give Boma a try next time we go. I have heard nothing but great reviews about it.

Thanks! We have a breakfast PS and a dinner PS and can't wait to try both! So glad you enjoyed.

BO-MA! BO-MA! BO-MA! :Pinkbounc

tigger&tigerlover - What were some of the differences between your two visits? We've been there twice separated by a couple of months and didn't notice too much of a difference. Perhaps we hit the same menu twice? I've heard tell of a great coconut tiramisu I have yet to try as well as a coconut curry chicken soup as opposed to the chicken pepper pot. Maybe they do all their 'coconut' on one day??

Just curious if you can shed some light on this!

On Monday, we had prime rib, a few soups I didn't care for, and I don't remember their names, salads were a raison/pineapple/carrot, a cold couscous, and a couple of others that didn't catch my eye. The cocomisu (coconut tiramisu) was the main change out desert for the evening.

On Saturday, the meat was a rib roast with a spicy hot bbq sauce, and the waitress said that a coconut curry salmon would be brought out as soon as they finished the nut crusted salmon (that was also there on Monday. The coconut curry chicken stew was one of the changes in the stews that I loved. Salads were all changed, and the Marikesh(?) couscous I didn't like as well as the one on Monday - different flavors. They also had a Kool Slaai that was wonderful - greens with chicken. Several different salad dressings. The primary desert change was a pudding that doesn't stand out in my memory.

The items that I know stayed the same: Meat dishes: Bobotie, nut crusted salmon (to be changed later), the kid's dishes of mac & cheese and chicken strips were the same (I didn't have those). Salads: A green salad mix, and a watermelon rind salad where there both days. Soups, I don't remember if anything stayed the same. Dessert: Zebra Domes, the Chocolate Mousse, the fruit tarts, and the pineapple cheesecakes were the same.

Does this help? I know that they changed enough that we had favorites each time.

So, the coconut salmon and the coconut soup were not served on the same night as the coconut tiramisu? Hmmmm...strange. Can you tell I like coconut?

Oh yum!! Thanks so much. I guess this will warrant another trip soon! Gotta get that tiramisu! I just love Boma!!

Oh yes. That coconut tiramisu is exquisite. We ate at Bomas exactly one week ago. The desserts were to die for. Although we didn't have any zebra domes. Maybe I didn't look hard enough(?). The chocolate mousse and the cheesecake were awesome.

Other than the desserts, I thought the soups were excellent. I had both the lamb & rice stew, and the plantain & corn chowder. YUM. Both get 5 stars! In fact the soups and the desserts were the highlight of the meal for me. The entrees were good, but the soups and desserts really put Boma over the top for us.
