What is the difference (if any) of quality of rooms in the Beach Club ot the Beach Club villas??? The prices seem so different from the regular hotel rooms to to villas that I am worried that the villas are not as nice or something. The price for a 1 bedroom suite at the BC is $510.00 and the price of a 2 bedroom villa at the BCV is $560. You seem like you would get so much more in a villa. Can anyone shed some light on this subject???

Thanks!

The villas are the DVC portion of the resort -( home away from home).

The regular BC rooms are just that - a hotel room with 2 queen beds and sometimes a daybed with a bathroom, vanity area and either a standing room only platform or sometimes a balcony.

The villas will have :

A studio size has a queen bed and pull out sofa bed, Kitchenette with small fridge, microwave, coffee pot and toaster.

1bdrm will have a full kitchen, washer and dryer in the room, living room with pull out sofa bed, separate bedroom with king size bed, bathroom with jacuzzi tub and a balcony with table and chairs.

2 bdrms will have all that the 1bdrms have with an additional bedroom with 2 queen beds if it's a dedicated 2bdrm or a studio attatched to the 1bdrm if a lock-off 2bdrm.

HTH's ;)

Just wanted to add - a suite at the regular BC portion will be more spacious and I'm sure very nice but will not have the washer and dryer or Kitchen. You're basically paying for the extra space as far as I can tell.

Why such a big price diffrence then??? If you could get a 2 bedroom villa for $560 then why get a 1-bedroom suite at the hotel for $510??? Maybe I am missing something???

Suites are usually more upscale and are in prime locations in the property--there will be more decorative detail.

the suite rooms at BC are bigger than the regular hotel room and set up differently...haven't stayed in one maybe someone else could help you with that...

also the availability of the villas might be low...if this is what you want you could also check out the forum here about renting DVC points for a stay at the villas...a vacation club member will rent you points to stay in a room at the villas...should be much cheaper than the 560/night you mention....check it out

Thank you very much for all of your information!!!

We were given a free upgraded to a BC suite during a slow September trip 3 years ago. We have also taken a tour of the BCV 2 bedroom. In our opinion, there was no question that we liked the BCV 2 Bedroom better.

The BC suite was very beautiful and much larger than the regular beach club room. The extra room was pretty much a day-bed room that opened onto a larger than average balcony. Between the room, two french doors led to the bedroom with one king bed. This suite was perfect for husband a wife, but would not have helped very much with a child because of the lack of privacy with the french doors. The bathroom was also a little larger than the regular room.

However, we felt like the BCV 2 bedroom was much nicer. The master bath is amazing with the jacuzzi tub and pass-through window into the master bedroom. The decor is a little more subdued than the regular BC rooms, which we really liked. And the full kitchen is beautiful.

Although we didn't get to stay at BCV at the time, we liked it enough that we are renting points at Saratoga Springs this September for a 1 BR with a wait list for BCV 1 BR. We are also taking this as our information gathering trip to decide if a DVC purchase is right for us.

By the way, the 1 BR has the same master bathroom suite and full kithen as the 2 BR.

The main down side to BCV (and for us, it is a small down side) is that you cannot get a view of the lake and the boardwalk from your balcony. The other down side is the less-frequent room service. In the suite, we had regular room service plus priority turn down service. At BCV, you get one or two regular services per trip (I know this is true for DVC members and people who rent dirctly from DVC members. If you rent directly through disney, you may get once a day room service. I would ask to be sure).

Hope this helps....

I think the suite is more upscale and if I am not mistaken are conceirge (sp) rooms. This might be a reason for the price difference. Those services are VERY expensive.

If I had to choose I would pick the 2 bedroom villa but I wouldn't go through Disney. I would rent points from a member. Actually I am doing just that for this year's trip and next. You will cut the bill more than in 1/2!
Example: a studio at the BW in Oct 2005 is $335 a night plus tax. Renting is $90 anight no tax. That is cutting the bill by alot more than 1/2!

Good luck and I hope you get to see DH soon!

Dr Mickey,

Thank you so much for the information! I feel much better now that we made the reservations for the BCV 1-bedroom. Unfortunatly the 2 bedrooms were not offered at the rate we are getting. We would pay $200 (with discount) a night for the 1 bedroom vs $560 (no discount) a night for the 2. We chose the 1 bedroom for this trip. I was just worried with the way that it gets priced that the the villas were significantly different. We are hoping the 2 bedroom opens but if not we are thrilled about the 1 bedroom.

Thank you!!!

SamanthaL,

Thank you very much for your great information. I was able to get a great deal on the 1 bedroom villa so the points may not work for me. At nine or ten dollars a point it would cost more then the rate I got through Disney. We will however keep that in mind for future bookings. I was unaware that there were people out there selling their points. If anyone reads this and wants to sell points for between 7-8 a point then I would be more then happy to do that.

Again thanks for the information!!!

My husband returns in Dec after 9 1/2 LONG months. Then we are heading out to WDW, Disney Cruise and then Mardi Gras!!! We can't wait to see him again!

Thanks!!!

I didn't realize your rate was that good. It must have been the rate for military families right?
It is good to keep in mind for future visits if military rates don't come out.
I hope you guys have a great trip. Does he have to go back to Iraq after Dec. or will he stay home?

We are actually getting a cast member discount which is 50% off. They never give the military that good of a rate. The most I have seen for the military is 40% which is still a good deal. We are unsure of his return to Iraq after Dec. He came home last June and was here for 8 months then left for 9 1/2. We are hoping that he will be here for at least a year. There is a possiblity of a ship deployment for 7 months sometime in our near future too. At least everytime he goes away we go ot Disney World when he gets back!!!

Just wanted to let you know on this subject ......

.... DVC members staying on points (and guests who rent points for their stay) do not get daily mousekeeeping. We get Trash-n-towel service on day 4 of your stay - they empty trash cans and replace towels and replenish 1days worth of laundry detergent and coffee And then a full cleaning on day 8 - they will change bed linens, vacum, clean bathrooms & entire villa, replenish towels & supplies. For even longer stays sometimes the schedule is slightly different I think but still no daily mousekeeping. You can get daily mousekeeping though for a daily fee - I think it's $25 a day studio,$35 a day 1bdrm and upwards for the larger size villas (or somewhere in that neighborhood - going by memory). Many like not having the daily service though as you aren't interupted everyday by the maids to come in and clean and with a 1bdrm or higher you can just wash your towels as needed;)

If however you are staying on cash thru a CRO ressie you will get daily mousekeeping just like at any other WDW resort hotel. So to Brooklyn since you are not staying on points - you will recieve daily mousekeeping. It is included with your stay;)

BTW, all DVC's connected to WDW resorts that have a regular hotel portion, also can get room service. These include BCV's,BWV's,VWL.

Enjoy!

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! I really apprieicate you taking the time to explain all of that. I was confused about all of this. I figured that I got a good rate so even if I did not get maid service that would be ok. I am very excited about staying at the BVC's. That is also great to know about the room service. We are SOOOOOOOOO excited about this trip :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc : . We went last summer for 10 nights and stayed at the CS. It was nice but we spent most of our time learning what to do instead of enjoying the vacation. THis time we will be familiar with things and I have this board to answer all of my questions, this year will be SOOOOO much better.

Thank you to everyone for answering my questions!!!!!

I hope your trip is great and now that you are getting informed it will be much more enjoyable. Ask all your questions so you are not unsure about anything. Also feel free to Private Message me anytime. I LOVE helping plan trips!!
