Hello friends. What started as a 7-night trip has turned into a 9-night trip -- with a few nights AKV CL, followed by 5 nights AKV SV (with a waitlist for Poly LV), and the last night at Boardwalk. (Just snagged that last one today, as there were NO studios available for that final night!!!) Right now I have enough points for everything (with 4 points to spare). I should just leave "well-enough" alone and cancel the Poly waitlist because I would be 22 points shy -- which would be borrowed against next year.
But we really love the Poly!!!
So here's my question... I do not want to borrow 22 points from next year, but realize that would happen automatically if the waitlist came through. (I wish there was an option to pay cash for one-time points, but there is not for the waitlist.) If that happened, would I be able to cancel that last night at Boardwalk so I could eventually bank those 16 points (currently applied to that one-night stay) for next year and then pay cash for that last night for another room on property? Then I'd be in the hole for only 6 points next year.
The chances of the Poly waitlist coming through are slim to none (because it's during a busy vacation week), so I'm probably worrying for nothing, but it kind of hurts to cancel it!
For anyone interested.... Update in Post #21
